Great to Learn About Personal Space
Harrison Spader, Personal Space Invader is a must read for anywhere with groups of children! The story is about Harrison who never leaves any personal space and so his dad teaches him a rhyme to help him understand and help him and others feel more comfortable. We see daily children nearly sitting on top of each other because they want to sit by their friends despite there being no space or too close because they don't understand other children like space so this is the perfect book to help children understand why space is important. Through situations Harrison gets himself into it makes it easy for the children to see why others might get frustrated and the book comes up with a fun rhyme and solution to solve Harrison's problem and can help the children learn too.The illustrations are bright, entertaining and fun which helps to keep the children's attention and most importantly highlights why it is important to give people space. This is such a great way to help children understand about personal space and it has made the children think about giving more space and learning as they discussed what they thought of Harrison's story, perfect to bring awareness to the idea of personal space and a book I'm sure would benefit all children's group settings!
