If it doesn’t fit just sand a bit!
Some say this does not fit. That was true for me too but if you sand the block ever so slightly it’ll fit right on. Probably 5 seconds per side on the sander and bam - fits like a dream. So if it does not fit just do a bit of sanding (which you’re probably going to end up doing anyway) because the way this helps space and drill is WORTH IT. I did use a clamp to hold in place and the tape trick helped my bear avoid drilling all the way through.

Pinewood derby - we won with this!
The drill guide worked great for most of the holes. The weights made the car just a little over and i whittled some wood off the bottom of the car to get it to racing weight. My son came in first place for the den and the pack. Parental advice: Use tape on drill bit to ensure that you don't accidentally go all the way through. Not that I did that or anything. Other literature recommends using a 3/8 inch forstner bit and i would advise that now too.Good luck and good racing! Have fun.

Does Not Fit!
The jig does not fit the wood block that comes standard with the derby kits. I needed both the jig and weights, and would return the kit if I was not short on time for the build. As it is now, the jig is useless, so the total price for the weights alone is a bit steep.

Worked as described. I've free handed the drill holes in the past and darn near drilled through the other side. Depths is still a little bit of guess work, but you can use tape on your drill bit to mark how deep you want to go.

Worked well
Used for our den. And we had a first and third over all!

Product not square
The jig does not lay flat when clamped to wood block, checked with machine square, the jig is not square. Worked well enough for my lions first car, but overall poor quality.

Drilling tool did not fit the wood block
The drilling tool did not fit the wood block therefore i could not use it, it was to tight of a fit and i did not want to damage the wood. I was able to use the weights.

Flat out Works
This was my third derby car, and first with this guide. It gets the weighting nearly perfect every time. Unless you have some high end vices and a drill press, this is the best option out there.
