Amazon Essentials Men's Short-Sleeve Oxford Shirt with Pocket

I was looking for a 100% cotton shirt to use for work around the farm/ranch. One that was fairly light for outdoor work during the summer, BUT, one that did not feel like paper. Found these shirts and decided to take a chance. Great decision! They are light enough for summer work (95 degrees or so) but still feel tough enough to the work around the farm/ranch. On fit: I normally wear a large and bought that. However I had to go up a size because when I was working my arm movement felt restricted. The XL fit perfectly, allowing unrestricted arm movement without feeling oversized. I will keep the large shirts to wear out as a casual shirt - they look nice enough for that.

My sons had to have white shirts for their jobs. These worked well.

It's a pretty nice shirt. I am happy with it because I purchased it on sale, but I would not be so thrilled if I paid the full price. It looks nice but everything about it is cheap. I am positive it won't last. Thin material. Loosely sewn buttons. As compared to a name brand oxford type shirt I have had for years there are some very obvious quality differences. Saying this I know nothing about clothing but what I am seeing is obvious. Would I buy this again for the "retail" price amazon asks for? No way. Would I buy it on sale again for about half the price? No doubt in my mind that I would buy this again. This is my personal opinion based on nothing but what I am seeing comparing two $25 shirts. Not a bad price just an OK shirt it wrinkled quite a bit after washing it and it shrunk. But if you need a white shirt, quick and inexpensive, it will work and it washed up decently.

Fits perfect! Even buttoning the top button for wearing a tie is perfect. Definitely on the thicker side so it will last but some people may not like it being thicker because it’s a short sleeve shirt -doesn’t bother me though it’ll last longer.

Generally good. Material and feel is soft and comfortable. Length is fine for wearing untucked. May have shrunk a bit with wash. Depending on whether you are going to the church social, or just hanging out on the boat, will decide for you whether you need to pass an iron over it. As far as fit goes, I know other reviewers have said it fits as expected. That was not my experience. I wear a large, but had to order x-large in these. These were the regular fit shirts, not the slim fit version. I did not think I had put on that many pounds, so I compared these to shirts I still have in my closet from 15 years ago. I have several different brands of shirts from that age - Jos A Banks, Faded Glory, Brooks Bros and Van Huesen. All of these are pretty close in width and arm length. The Amazon Essentials are about 3-4” narrower in width of the body, for a large. The inseam of the Amazon Essentials arm (short sleeve) is at least 3” shorter than the others and the angle where the arm meets the body is much more acute. That translates into less freedom in movement of your arms. So, if you are not wanting a fit as you had in the past, it may not matter, but I wish a casual shirt to feel comfortable and give freedom of movement. By going up a size I achieved that goal and it does not look big on me. My shirts from 15 years back still fit just fine. What appears to be happening in men’s shirts is that fashion has determined we need to be wearing tighter clothes nowadays, or perhaps the manufacturers are just skimping on material....

Quality shirt for the money. Material is rich-cotton not unlike quality cotton bed linen, not thin cotton. Regular fit does fit well and correct length in the body too. I’m 6’ and 95kg and ordered UK-XL, they fit well with the right amount of room to spare for movement. Very comfortable. Perfect for daily work wear and very well made. Bought two, will now buy two more, very happy.

Really happy with fit, material quality seems way better than I’d expect for the cost. Very comfortable, washed and only very very slightly shrunk. Great colour saturation, long enough but not too long. Over all, very impressed by the quality, fit and value. Will definitely give Amazon Basics a first priority after this.
