Now I have to peel it off risking that it may rip the paperback book cover, or leave it on, thus reducing the value of the book. Wonderful book for handling daily difficulties.

I started reading it at a time when I knew there were serious flaws in my attitude, only I couldn't figure out exactly why, or what to do about them. I'm also poor at reading the Bible and other spiritual books. This book was exactly what I needed! Each day I would read about the worst problem I was having (starting with IRRITATION!), and the stories about the saints who faced those same problems were outstanding. It helped me immensely. The list of problems covered is also very well thought out and realistic. I hope to progress to reading books written by the saints, but reading Fr. Esper's excerpts was much easier for me at this time.One of the things I love most about this book is Fr. Esper's selection of topics: anger, depression, unpopularity, gluttony, and so many more ... how amazing to find a book with topics I can relate to so well! Some of my favorites thus far have been "irritations" and "gloominess."Lastly, I'm amazed that Fr. Esper is sufficiently acquainted with such a wide number of saints as to be able to quote so many of them on each of these somewhat obscure topics. What a treasure trove of education and inspiration! This has truly helped me more than years of therapy!

This book is wonderful and inspiring! I love how it is divided by whatever you are struggling with (anger, pride, grief, doubts, temptation,etc.) and gives examples from saints lives that struggled with the same weaknesses or difficulties. I bought a copy for my sister when she was going through a tough time and she loved it. My mother was visiting her and read the book and loved it so much that I bought a copy for my mother as well. I have recommended this book to my family and friends.

I really enjoy this book. It's not for reading cover-to -cover, but rather for choosing one chapter that strikes you, reading and praying with it, then moving on to another topic. These individual topics are well chosen and important in life today. The author has some good insights into the different problems that we all face, and I find many of his suggestions very helpful. It's a great aid for personal prayer time and self-improvement.

This book is a favorite of many friends and family.Fr. Esper has been a guest speaker on EWTN, but I had already acquired the book before his appearance.I met him when he celebrated Mass at my mothers funeral out of town. God works in mysterious ways.

It is interesting to see how the saints looked upon common problems we all experience. It gives us more insight as to how to approach those conditions and how others can respond to our new way of handling these problems.Definitely worth reading !

Very good insight on saintly solutions to life common problems. It inspires you and its amazing to realize that saints from different religions have many things in common about their realizations of life problems and God. A good read !!

This book is very well put together. The example of the saints and how WITH THE HELP OF RELYING ON GOD managed to show us the way they overcame and advice on how to overcome the weaknesses we all suffer from. It’s a great book to use for examination of concience, as a Lenten path and as a companion on life’s pilgrimage. It gives one encouragement and strength to know that the saints went through the same struggles as we do and yet it is by going through these struggles and learning to rely on God at these moments of temptations that God turned these moments around and led them to the path of sainthood.
