Quality product, no problems at all.
I love everything about this kit. Easy and rapid installation, quality results, great features, simple to use. Batteries have been really good so far also, use about 5% a week but it is a low traffic installation so that may be helping. Very happy thus far, no complaints.

Review after having Arlo Ultra cameras for 1 year. Don’t buy, premium price & not worth the hassle.
Review after having Arlo Ultra cameras for 1 year Overall review: Don’t buy Arlo Ultra, premium price and not worth the hassle. The cameras: The cameras are fantastic in quality of image and getting footage form the app on to your phone is simple. However the battery life is nothing like Arlo suggest it is if you want to use the best features like high resolution and the spot light activation on movement for instance. It is also very important to know that the cameras are very high maintenance. What I mean by this is that they have regularly started alerting even when someone was outside the activity zones, i.e. alerting when they shouldn’t. When this happens it is very annoying and the fix each time as been to remove all the cameras from the base units and reset them all. This involves taking them all down and starting from scratch. I have had to do this so many times I have lost count. This has been at the request of Arlo themselves after raising support cases. The cameras are very intermittent in syncing with the base unit on set up and it can take a long time despite having the cameras literally a few centimetres away from the base unit. In addition the distance the camera can be from the base unit is also nothing like Arlo claim and has meant I have had to purchase an additional base unit to ensure my cameras are responsive and don’t constantly keep disconnecting. I don’t have a particularly big house and I did situate the cameras where Arlo recommended. The cameras only link directly to the base unit they do not use your Wi-Fi. The 4K live feed is useful, and I like the quality. However the delay on the cameras can be very frustrating, sometimes it can be so long that the reason for looking as long gone. Please don’t think that you can use the talk back function to hold a conversation, the delay makes that impossible. The cameras only record on activation, and in very short intervals, sometimes only 10 or 15 seconds even if the reason for activation is still within the activity zone, it may start another recording but not always. I find this impossible to predict. Let’s face it the main reason for having cameras is having that visibility, its very hit and miss and simply not reliable enough for me. I have found the video feeds and capture to be hit and miss, it records sound no images and vice versa and can activate after someone or somebody has made it almost all the way across the activity zone. So all you get is a few seconds of the back of a car or see someone disappearing without any hope of seeing who it was. The app: The app is good, simple to use and relatively fast, you can grant family access and control what they are able to do, i.e. removing cameras etc. However the reliability in linking to HomeKit on Apple devices is a very weak spot. The only way to resolve this is raising a support ticket and asking Arlo to reset a token in order to get this working again, they have never been able to explain to me what causes the issue to happen. The support from Arlo: Very hit and miss, first time I raised a ticket it was ok, however recently its been frankly shocking. Don’t try and call the customer contact centre I have called this literally hundreds of time and they never answer, they have had a message on saying they are having technical difficulties for months now. If you use the app to raise a request they will support however they will not speak to you, its all done via email and a web portal. An issue that could be resolved in a 5 min phone call took almost two weeks back and forth. Arlo are not interested in putting the customer first, it is all on their terms and please do not think premier price means premium support, because you will be sorely disappointed. Value from money: I have spent well over £1000 on my system and based on the stated features of Arlo Ultra I have to say its simply not worth it, the battery life is very poor if you want the best features. I had to buy solar panels to keep my 3 cameras powered otherwise I was charging every week. The support is very poor considering the cost of the kit and while the first year online access its included its not cheap per month after that. I would love to try the alternatives however I am now stuck with Arlo, don’t make the same mistake I did.

Love this item
This is an amazing bit of kit... very expensive but they do a fantastic job. The only down side is after 12 months you can subscribe to keep recordings going as if you don't you loose the recordings!... I just run them on notifications.

Very good but claimed battery life is nowhere near reality
Product gets excellent reviews, and it is a premium product. Firstly, battery life claims are ridiculous in context of normal use. I set one of the cameras up in a fairly narrow field of view and only to detect people (it's clever in that it can distinguish animals, cars, humans and other motion individually, and does this with a very high success rate). The battery lasted five days. I guess that it detected motion 10-12 times a day, so not excessive activity. I tried the same with a different camera and battery and had the same result. So work on the basis of adding a permanent wire, or the solar charger (at £60 !) if anything is likely to set the camera off more than once a day. I can only imagine their claim of 3 or 6 months battery life refers to the camera never being activated. The Arlo feels more cybersecure than most of the other options, especially through a separate hub and the company support is extremely good with comprehensive answers for most queries you have. However, I had an issue with pairing the cameras to the hub after I had swapped the re-chargeable battery which took hours to resolve. I followed all the online instructions, including factory re-setting the hub and cameras, without success. When I'd exhausted the manufacturers help list, I looked elsewhere and found a suggestion to re-install the app. Whilst the app was working fine with the other cameras installed, it was only when I deleted and re-installed it that it would pair with the other cameras. Quality of images is exceptionally good, motion detection is excellent and lots of parameters are user choices. App is generally straightforward to use. So lots of good things, but don't install the camera in an inaccessible place for 3 months without needing to charge the battery.

Excellent when working, highly frustrating when not.
I've got multiple years using Arlo products, from the first Arlo cameras. I've upgraded to the Pro, Pro2 and now the Ultra cameras so I would consider myself as been somewhat experienced with these cameras and the systems. The Good: The small size of the cameras and the ease of setting them up means that even users with a very limited amount of knowledge can follow simple on screen/printed instructions to get up and running in no time at all. The app and website is user friendly The battery life isn't bad at all, you have multiple options to reduce image quality to increase battery life or have full image quality at the detriment to battery life. Not an issue if you've plugged it in of course. Motion detection and frequent recording will of course reduce battery life. Build quality is excellent, had multiple cameras outside in rain, wind and snow. All working without issue. The BAD - The mobile app seems to break more and more frequently with each release Arlo/Netgear roll out. - I had a brand new Ultra base unit that Arlo had to replace (after 4 months of me jumping through hoops to get them to believe that there was a problem with it). Problems included cameras not recording despite picking motion up. Recorded video cutting out after 3 seconds (when the video was set to record for 30 seconds, regardless of continued motion or not). Strange pink/green night vision recordings so you couldn't see anything of any use. Setting not getting applied to the cameras and settings changing on their own, such as cameras with audio disabled suddenly triggering on audio and recording audio. - The price - While the quality is good, I believe there are other systems out there that probably do just as good a job (or near enough) for a fraction of the cost - especially when you consider the unreliability people face with cameras/base units and the application.

Arlo Ultra Review
A great camera system, providing clear images.I'm still playing with all the settings from scheduling to tracking.Battery life is obviously subject to traffic and recording.

Worst customer after service. DO NOT BUY ARLO
I am shocked at ARLO's approach to customer service. I renewed my subscription and money taken from my bank but cameras not activated. I logged an issue to their system them after several replies from them asking the same questions they closed my ticket and unable to contact them again!!. This is wholy unacceptable and probably illegal as they have taken money from my account. I will be following this up with trading standards. I would avoid purchasing any of the cameras which at best are nowhere good enough to be on the market with false alerts all day on my mobile phone, double alerts so at least two alerts for motion detected. Basically you cannot rely on these to secure your home. Great marketing but realistically absolutely rubbish and a waste of a lot of money. Do some research and buy alternatives as I will now have to.

Will not allow 4K SSD recording if buy 2K cloud by package. Everything defaults to 2K from 4K
Will not allow 4K Local SSD recording if buy 2K cloud package. Everything reduces to 2K even though 4K worked before subscribing. Other than this rip off they are good cameras.
