Amazon Essentials Mens Lightweight Water-Resistant Packable Puffer Vest

This vest was a hit with my man. We’re going to have an experience at the top of a cold mountain and need protection from blowing, frigid air. This vest will be the perfect shield against the elements, when combined with a thick hoodie. The medium size fit him well and the material is lightweight as well as air filled.

I live in Colorado and have a job that is inside and out all day with unpredictable weather. This vest is perfect for me during winter and spring. Its seemingly light weight, yet keeps me warm on chilly days. So long as im not out in sub freezing weather for prolonged periods, it is ideal. Perfect fit and style. Just what i needed.

Since I only paid $24 for this, it's a no-brainer. I bought a medium after reading concerns about it running wide. I'm 5' 10, 155 pounds with no gut, so the medium is perfect for me despite the fact that for jackets I would always buy a large because my shoulder are rather broad for my size. The medium fits over or under a medium fleece nicely. It's extremely lightweight and packable. It's perfect for that extra layer on a vacation just in case the temp drop. Quality seems fine, although only time will tell.

Addendum 10/24I bought my first Amazon "puffer" vest last winter season, and it really helped to make many of the colder days more bearable. That first vest has held up perfectly - no popped seams, no busted zippers.During a recent "Prime Day" sale, they had these going for a very good price, so I got another on in a different color (Dark Olive Green). It's equally well made.Here's my original review:I wanted another lightweight layer to wear under my winter parka, and a friend suggested a "puffer" style vest. I've been happy with other Amazon Basics products, and this is the first piece of clothing I've purchased from their clothing line. So far, so good.First, Amazon suggest a large size, but I've always considered myself to be a "medium", without too much of a gut, so that's what I ordered. Glad I did, because the fit is perfect, IMHOP. It's close to my torso, but definitely not snug or constricting. The bottom hem is loosely elastic, and has no cinching.In the pictures, the vest appears a bit more "puffy" than what I got. Fine by me, I'll be layering this under my coat, and didn't want a lot of bulk.I got the dark red, and the vest is a wine colored burgundy, very close to the color that's shown on the website.It has a medium sized front zipper that extends all the way up into the collar.The outside pockets are decent sized, not too big, and also zippered.There are top load pockets on the inside of the vest (both sides) that have no closures.Quite happy with these vests - used as an extra layer under a coat or around the house, they're great! :)

Better quality than I expected at this price point. Just good functional mid layer or light cover vest. Regarding heft, its very light in weight, so easy to grab and put on. This is compact puffy, not full puffy in insulation. I've used moderately and the batting (insulation) shows no sign of compressing or sagging yet. I like the light chocolate brown color as a bit uncommon than the standard outdoor clothes colors otherwise.

This is an amazing vest. I had to exchange it for a small since it runs a little large. However, it is comfortable, warm but not too warm, soft, packable, and well made. I actually like it much better than some of my more expensive vests like the ones from Patagonia. I liked it so much I bought 3 more. For the price of one vest from Patagonia you can get 4 or 5 of these. Plus they wash well. The pockets are nice too. I call it the Three Bears Vest: not too warm, not too cold, but just right.

I bought this for my husband who’s 6’2”, 190 lbs. Got him an XL and the fit and cut is perfect. He wears it around the house and everywhere else. We live in Southern California but the weather has cooled enough. Keep in mind this vest isn’t for the northern states, because it is lightweight. It really does look good on him. Fantastic quality and great price. He’s a happy camper 😃.

So at first I ordered an extra large assuming I could fit a sweatshirt under the vest. Delivery was the next day - wow. I thought that t extra large I’m just not that fat. So I guess I was wrong. I then returned the extra large and ordered the XX large. Again shipping was instantaneous. However, the vest seems way too big. No I did not lose a bunch of weight in the meantime. 😂.Seems that the sizing runs weird. The vests as between X and XX seem to be hat one to think would be as between X and XXX.That all being said, know that I also, at the same time bought the full jacket. The XX large fits just a bit to large, but acceptable enuf.
