This is the one!!! I have an 8.5 lb Pekingese with severe anxiety. Bathing, brushing, trimming, dematting, any type of grooming is an ordeal.This dematting tool is an stress-relieving must for any grooming of a long-haired dog prone to mats!Unfortunately my pup developed some mats behind her sensitive ears that I just couldn’t get to. I have tried electric clippers, scissors, combs, and other dematting tools that were probably either too large or not sharp enough. This one is just the right size and sharp enough that it doesn’t pull much on her hair — I still used very gentle pressure and “sawed” through the hair. For the first time she tolerated it and even seemed to have some relief from the work I was doing. The tool itself has a very small handle (which works for me — I have small hands) but might be uncomfortable for someone with larger hands. It’s designed to be able to be used whether you’re left or right-handed, and I haven’t tried swapping the blades to adjust for my left hand, but appreciate the versatility. I’m so grateful to have found something that will work and I will purchase again and again if the blades on this eventually become dull.

I ordered 2 versions of different brands from separate Amazon listings. I included Halloween candy in the photo for scale. The larger brush was great to get through the mats on the main body of my 11 lb Yorkie. The smaller brush was perfect to tackle any mats under his leg joints, by his neck, face, ears, and base of his tail where he is most sensitive. My husband and I both grabbed a brush to work on each end of him, so that helped to keep my pup from attacking one of the brushes. These brushes saved me endless hours of pain-staking knot and mat removal. They are probably slight sharper than butter knives at the under-side where it cuts and loosens the mess. Now I can finally brush him with a normal bristle brush on a clean slate! Thank you for having this product available!

I wish I had known about these a long time ago. I have every other comb and brush I've heard of but none work like these. My dog hates most grooming, so I needed a way to get out mats that he wouldn't notice much at all. With this, I can pull the mat up a bit, and then hold the roots so he doesn't even notice while I get it out. I don't have to worry about cutting him, like with scissors, since I can face the sharp side away from him. I didn't give it a 5 only because I wish it were sharper so it would slice the hair easier, but I know others might not like it that way. I also need something bigger. I think this is best for a tiny dog. Ours is about 20 lb with lots of hair. Whether this one or a different one, for sure get one of these!

I use it in my Biewer. Works perfectly and goes through mats. Loaned it out and friend liked it as well.
