Does What it Claims, A Good Product
I bought this to use in a Ram 1500 Express 4x2. I had just installed new Michelin LTX tires on this truck, but the rear end was breaking loose way too easily in any sort of snow event. I installed this with bungee straps per the directions. I was concerned about being able to drain it for removal and potential microbial growth, so I added 2 gallons of polypropylene RV antifreeze before filling. Then, I measured the flow rate on my outside hose per second and filled it to approximately 19 gallons to result in approximately 170 lbs of load. This lowered the rear of the truck about 3/4 of an inch measured at the tailgate. The product appears to be well made. I had no issue extending or resetting the pop up fill collar. However, I also did this while the material was warm and pliable. I have not noticed any adverse effects in handling or drive-ability. In fact I think ride has improved greatly. My fuel economy did decrease slightly, but only by a couple of tenths. It's hard to speak accurately about economy though considering normal cold weather losses during the winter. It was a month or so before any significant snow occurred to form a realistic opinion about traction improvement. I would have to say it is dramatically better. I was concerned about stopping with the added momentum and that was why I held the fill weight to the low side, but there has been no problem whatsoever. The bladder does slide under very hard breaking or acceleration, even on a sprayed in bed liner. There is no surge though and nothing that would even indicate this happened other than the sound. I was skeptical of spending so much and do feel it's priced somewhat high ( I paid about 140), but I am very satisfied with the product and for what it does, I think its a brilliant solution. I also feel that its a safe alternative to unsecured weight that could come flying through the back window in a sudden stop. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it at the right price as it does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Highly Recommended
I installed my ShurTrax in my 2003 F-150 Extended Cab, perfect fit! I could tell the difference as soon as I started driving, it added that stability that a pickup normally doesn't have. We've only had a few inches of snow so far this year, but in that little amount we did get my truck doesn't fish tail or spin out when you turn sharp bends. It was a little more than I wanted to spend for a giant bladder, but overall it is pretty durable. Plus when winters over, pump all of the water out, fold it up and put it on a shelf til next year. My truck has 4 tie downs that attach perfectly to the eyelets on the bladder. The instuctions said not to use a ratchet strap, so just use 4 of those shorter bungee's that are too short for anything else and they'll hold it down. I have a bedliner, so it does slide on quick stops and up steep inclines, but nothing to be concerned about. Overall, I give it two thumbs up! It's safe and it does what it says!

Need the weight
Thus is my third ShurTrax. Living in the North country this is a must for 4 wheel and especially 2 wheel drive full size trucks. Itโs easy to install and fill. I would suggest that one tirs it down on all four corners. Then place a 1/4 inch sheet of plywood over it for protection. This will also allow you to place items on top without the possibility of puncture. This also has baffles to prevent sloching. In deep winter this will freeze solid. It will not move and is very heavy. Well built. Highly recommended.

Slouches a little but it keeps the back from meeting the front in rain.
It does do some sloshing around but it is a good weight to keep the 2.7 ecoboost on the road. The 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds is fast for a pickup.

Poor quality, seams come apart from normal water use after 2 years! - Replacement bag failed after 1 year! JUNK
Updated 12/16/17 Company provided a replacement warranty bag last year after mailing them the cut out fill valve. I used the replacement bag for 3 months then drained, folded and put away in the vinyl bag it came in. This year I put the bag in my truck bed, filled and all looked fine. Today, after 1 month, I noticed the bag was flat / out of water. I have a bed cover so it is protected from outside abuse. When I tried to contact the company via email, it appears the email address is no longer active, and it's Facebook page is also inactive. These bags are poorly made junk. Save yourself the grief, buy something else! Purchased it for a 2010 F 150 short bed crew cab. Almost too small for the bed. I interpreted the flyer as saying the hold down straps came with it but they don't. You must secure this thing in place or it will slide around in the bed. Does add enough weight for traction. Instructions say you can put up to 500 lbs on top of it but I wouldn't. UPDATE: November 11, 2016 2 years later and now installed in 6 ft bed of 2007 Nissan Frontier. Fits way better than the F 150 and even with the bed extender folded into the bed which holds it firmly in place. HOWEVER, I noticed water leaking out of the bed of my truck today and found it nearly empty when I got home from shopping with the wife. Pulled it out and found that the seams in two places had delaminated! The product packaging says "NO HASSLE 3 YEAR WARRANTY". I've contacted the supplier in Illinois, we'll see if they replace it.

Simple and Effective System. Wish I had gotten it sooner!
I recently purchased the Full Size ShurTrax for my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 2x4. Just put a set of 4 new All-Terrain tires on the truck toward the end of Summer. Prior to getting my ShurTrax system we got an early snow storm in October. Drove to work after the storm and fishtailed taking off at some intersections even though I gently accelerated. Tired of sliding around, I ordered ShurTrax online from Amazon, received it the next day! Good thing, since a snowstorm was due that night. Put the ShurTrax in the truck bed and used the garden hose attachment to fill it up. I will agree with other posts that threading the filler attachment onto the ShurTrax fill plug neck is a challenge, as is pulling the filler neck up in order to couple the hose to it. (My husband was finally able to do it, but with some difficulty) Once attached, was able to fill it up within minutes. Now 3 snowstorms later, one with ice underneath the snow, I must say my husband and I both noticed a huge difference how the truck handles on the roads. Now while driving with the ShurTrax installed, it is obvious that there is more weight in the truck bed and it handles so much better. Driving the truck in the early morning after a night of 3-4 inches of snow accumulation and before the snow/salt trucks had were out, I was able to take off and stop effectively from intersections where previously I had slid and fishtailed on. Going up snowy hills is also much easier. Now I can drive more confidently in the snow, while still using the appropriate amount of caution and adjusting my driving for the current road conditions. Wish I had a ShurTrax years ago. It is well worth the price for the added peace of mind and improved handling in the snow. I've already recommended it to people I know.

My Review of the ShurTrax CLW0056 LW-0056 All Weather Traction Aid for Full Size Pickup Trucks
I purchased this product back in 2019 after moving from California to Colorado with mMy truck was only 2WD Dodge Ram 1500 and was concerned about driving in the snow without a 4WD truck. I have to say this exceeded my expectations. Worth the purchase. It worked good at giving me that extra weight needed without having to place sand or salt bags in the bed. I would recommend this to anyone who had a 2WD vehicle to assist with weight and dont want the mess in the bed. This will not replace chains through in harsh weather. I'm interested in how long it will last.

A must for a RWD truck winter-driving.
This is pretty much one of the few options to add a decent amount of weight without having to worry about the possible mess of sand-bags, or anything else. That being said, this is THE product to purchase for your RWD full-size truck. I have a F-150 long bed, and recently purchased this for the winter. Beforehand, I could barely turn a corner in the rain without wheel slippage. Now I can get the truck rolling easy on iced roads. Snow is no problem either, just deliberate but cautious driving and the truck handles just fine. On the downside, as with any weight you add, you are losing gas mileage. Depending on how much water is added, you now have between 400-500lbs sitting directly over your axle, and the truck will accelerate as such. What used to be easy goings from a stoplight are now a bit more drawn out, unless you put your foot down and drain the gas tank. The gas mileage aside, this is a great purchase for anyone that has a fullsize truck and a need for extra bed weight in the winter. One last word of advice, the company strongly suggests using the tie-down grommets to secure the bladder. I'd recommend the same thing. For most trucks, two 12" on EACH grommet to a tie-down point in the bed is sufficient.

Great weight distribution!
Bladder fits well into 51/2 foot truck box. Adjustable volume allows for flexible weight requirements. once filled it doesn't move in the box. Bladder froze solid in Mid December and thawed with no issues. Material seems very durable

Tore after first use.
Not great quality. It work for the winter but when it thawed, the seam had come apart and the water leaked out of the seam. To expensive for a one season use. Will try using the warranty for a replacement.
