Mostly good - charging dock received was not a Samsung original part
I just received this watch last night so this is mainly a review on the item as received. To preface this review, I have owned an identical Samsung Galaxy 46mm watch, purchased brand new about 10 months ago, which I have used, and very much enjoyed. This one was purchased for my wife to use, as she really has liked mine, so I purchased this for her use. The watch as received looks good cosmetically - no visible blemishes of any significance - honestly, none I could see with the naked eye at 6 inches. The watch paired with my wife's Samsung Galaxy S9 phone without any issues, and appears to be functioning identically to mine without any apparent issues. I have not checked the heart rate monitor for functionality yet, nor have I verified how closely the altimeter/barometer correlates to mine, or how "accurate" the pedometer is. Where I was a little disappointed with this purchase was A) only one wireless charging dock was included, not two as you would receive with a new watch (and as at least one reviewer noted they received two), and B) the charging dock is NOT a Samsung original - I have both, and the one received with this watch is clearly an aftermarket model - it does not say Samsung on the bottom, and it feels clearly different that the Samsung original. Also, I can not say how well the provided charger works yet, as I just put the new watch on my original charger, and everything worked fine - I will probably be fine with what was provided as I have two original docks from my original purchase for us to use at home, and I can use the one provided with this purchase as the travel dock, and the watch only uses about 2-3% of the battery charge sitting overnight off the charger, so long as the screen is turned off, but it is still slightly disappointing that the charger provided was not an original accessory. To be fair, the listing does not specifically say that the charger would be an original, nor does it say you will get two (although it also does not specifically say that the charger may be an aftermarket part either), so for ~$185-$190, this is overall a 4 star purchase in my assessment. I did contact the seller "Chubbiestech," and they agreed to send me an original charger, so I am giving this a 5 star review - assuming that I receive the OE charger.

Worth the money!
THIS IS A REALITY REVIEW! (Meaning... Well, if your life is hectic, you might want to read this.)Okay, first off, I'd like to throw out there that I, myself am a C.M.A, my job is very, very, very luxurious... (sarcasm) my hands are constantly beat up in the worst of ways. I've busted so many analog watches that I was terrified to buy this, this is what I have to say about it:As far as durability, I'm extremely impressed by this watch. It is absolutely waterproof with a feature that will quite litterly "blow out" the water of its speakers. It's week one (believe me, that is a lot of wear and tear in my life) and there are absolutely no surprises or scratches. The battery life is also impressive, considering I've had countless calls and draining activities with barely half the battery gone.As far as design goes, it has a very simple design in my opinion yet with many complex features that make it practical but stylish. It is fairly accurate with steps, BPM, etc.CONS:There are very few cons, but these may vary to person to person. The watch itself is quite large and a few times I find myself in a bit of pain because it rubs against my wrist bone, so if you have small wrists, it might be a little uncomfortable at times without adjusting. The band they give you... Honestly is quite terrible and I wouldn't recommend leaving it on the watch. It is painful and stiff. This is a slight con, but there are a few times that say you are on a phone call through the watch, your phone (if the wifi is enabled) will switch to wifi and will trick you into thinking your call has dropped. While that shouldn't even be a con, it can get a bit annoying out of no where.

Perfect for my Lifestyle
Wow I meant to write a review after having the watch for a month, but 5 months have slipped by! So for the past 5 months this watch has been amazing. It looked practically brand new when I got it, and I even used to have a manual labor job where it would bump into hard surfaces a lot and it never got scratched or blemished, but I did purchase a case, screen protector, and the rotating bezel protector just to be on the safe side and to protect this investment. There are some cons which aren't worth removing a star in my opinion, which are occasionally the watch has become unresponsive or very laggy which holding down the power button for about a minute has always fixed the issue. The other con is some apps like Spotify and the samsung pay I just never got to work unfortunately.BUT the benefits oh my. I almost never miss an important call because of this watch. Even if my phone isn't near by, but in another room for example I can answer and talk on the watch if necessary. It tracks my sleep and steps like a champ, and I adore the Samsung health app integration with the GPS where for example if I take a walk around the neighborhood (without my phone) it will still track where I walked and how fast I was walking, and my heart rate and everything. This has helped with my health a lot, and I love that I can check most of my phone notifications on my wrist without having to grab my phone every time. I also have used other functions such as a language translator app, calculator, to-do list, etc. I always want to have a smart watch going forward, and after 5 months this thing is still so durable, no problems with the wrist band or anything. On many other watches over the years by now the band would have started breaking or something. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone! It's my most favorite watch that I've ever owned hands down.

Sold watch for runners...
I've had this watch for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it overall. I've been searching for a while for a watch that wears like a watch (not a fitness band) and that looks good in the boardroom too.My struggle has been, as a runner, finding a watch with GOOD GPS tracking (independent of the phone) so I don't have to lug my phone with me on runs to track my route. This watch has that so that was the #1 selling factor for me.When I first tried to use it without my phone, it was a complete failure. I found that when I initiated my running app (I use MapMyRun), it had a hard time locking on to the GPS signal and the distances and times were all out of whack. After some reading and research, I learned that it is important to make sure your phone is either completely turned off or out of range of your watch before you try to lock on to the GPS signal. Once I knew that and tried it, it's been working great on each and every run - accurately tracking my route, distance and time. All of the other features of the watch have worked well for me. It is a little bulky for running (I mean I notice it on my wrist), but not nearly as bulky as my phone.

It's been about a month, first review
I bought this renewed from Amazon. I was genuinely impressed by the packaging it came in, every accessory was included and the watch looked like it was never used. Currently, I am getting about 3 days of battery with some minor tweaking of the settings that I found on YouTube and others. The first few days I played with it but now I wear it as a watch mostly because I am not a fitness guru or jogging enthusiast. I do make and receive a few phone calls on it via Bluetooth but I keep the Wi-Fi off for battery savings. I love getting my text/email/etc notifications on my watch thus keeping my phone out of my hands while I drive. I also get daily briefings, however I generally don't read them because it is pretty small text and I am not 20 years old anymore. Twice I got a notice on my watch saying something about ambient air pressure dropping and be prepared for inclement weather, the first time it happened it started raining in about 10-15 minutes, the second time it happened the tornado siren starting blowing about 25 minutes later! Luckily it was a false alarm, there was no tornado sighted and the hot spot was about 30 minutes away from me. DO NOT take this review as a tornado predictor! But the fact that there is a built in barometer is really cool, and a built in altimeter is useful if you are a mountain hiker I suppose, which I am NOT. I got way more than I paid for or wanted but I would certainly recommend it to anyone just wanting a very nice looking watch, let alone all the other cool things it is capable of doing. My biggest concern was water. I burned up three Samsung Gear S3 because of sweat or washing my hands and I returned them to AT&T who sold them to me, they took them under protest but they all died in less than 3 weeks. I have worn this particular watch in the shower, in the pool, in the hot tub and no defects so far. If you are looking for a beautiful watch that works great, I recommend it very much!

the updated app doesn't work unless you have a samsung phone, DONT BUY GEAR WATCHES
I have spent hours and hours on the phone with technical support and they can't fix the app, and it appears that they have know about the apps problems for 5 or 6 months and don't tell people before they buy the phone. I have a google pixel 3, and with the old version of the app everything worked just fine, I already had 3 gear watches. The current app that they can't seem to fix gives a blank white screen when you tap to sign into your gear account, and without the gear account being connected, you can't update apps, get any new watch faces get notifications properly or do most of the smart functions you want to work when you spend hundreds of dollars on a watch. I happened to buy two new watches, this gear sport and the new gear watch 46mm. After the tech people on the phone were done with me, not only did the new phones not connect, they had me reset all my other watches, so now I have 5 watches that don't function because they can't fix the app. UNLESS YOU HAVE A SAMSUNG PHONE TO USE WITH IT, DON'T BUY ANY GEAR WATCHES, YOU WILL BE VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Samsung should be letting people know, and letting sellers know that they have this problem and have know since at least October of 2018 going by the threads I have found of other people complaining about the problem. I wondered why the prices had dropped so much on these watches, they are great when the app works, without the app there is nothing smart about them, they are just a watch. As far as I am concerned, they are defrauding people buy continuing to sell theses watches and not telling people the smart functions won't work. They had me download and send them log files from my phone and the watches and then I never hear from them again, they have no idea how to fix the problem and screw up peoples phones and watches playing tech support like they do. Splendid Watch
Renewed? Mine is like brand new and came with 2 bands. Not so much as a scratch.I have several watches including an ancient Rolex Submariner. I doubt that any of them will ever see daylight again. This thing is incredible. I walk quite a bit. The watch has about 1.5gb of music storage and connects flawlessly to Sony earbuds. Now I can leave my phone at home and still enjoy music. Plus I expect that my gym will reopen soon..There are numerous watch faces built in and others are available at the Samsung store (I think for free). Unlike some other smartwatches this has many features that work independently of the phone it is connected to. It is loaded with goodies and a complete manual (PDF) is available at the Samsung website. I definitely recommend downloading the manual to take full advantage of the device. All of the faces are very easy to read. The sports face I am using (today - it's fun to change from time to time) shows time, date, heart rate, battery charge and two step counters. Other faces also show the day of week. There is some textual information provided by apps and notices. While it is small print it is surprisingly easy to read due to the quality of the display. I did have some trouble entering my wifi password as my finger doesn't always tap the intended target. (I am 72 and have a tremor.)I am using the setting that keeps the watch displayed at all times (with dim lighting). When my wrist is tilted to read the screen the face is fully lit. Battery life is fair. I am charging every other day. The charger, by the way, is magnetic. No plugs to fool with.If there is a downside it is the complexity. There are two buttons, bezel turns, swipes and touches that do various things. It is a learning process. A smartphone is much easier to use just by virtue of the difference in screen size. However, you can activate voice commands. It functions like Google Assistant or Alexis. All in all, most people will really love this watch. Presumably people who hate techie things won't buy it in the first place. As always, YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

Great Watch, Good Battery Time, Flawless Operation
I bought this renewed item and have been very happy since. I have had no issues with the watch, and the watch looked like new. I was not totally sure as to how I might use the functions of the watch. Over time I have found that I like getting the notifications on my watch, phone calls, reminders, and calendar notifications, etc. . I use the stop watch and timer operations in the kitchen, or for other odds and ends. I can roam freely thru my house, without having my phone on me, and have my watch immediately let me know what's up. When I am at the end of my house, I do not have to RUN to catch a phone call, before it switches to voice mail. I answer my phone on my watch, and talk on my watch. The sound is clear and loud enough, and the people on the other end hear me o.k. Yep, LOVE this watch! One important thing though, if you want the timer & reminder apps, you went need to get them through the galaxy store, as they do not come with the watch. Some people have not seen that they can get other apps from the galaxy store, with the feature one being the timer app, and just thought the watch does not have it. Well, there are many other apps available through the store, but you just have to download them to the watch.UPDATE: Sept., 28, 2021Well, got a good one for you here! Do you want to know how OUTSTANDING this watch is against water/hard treatment? Well, get this. I found that I had accidentally WASHED my watch in my washing machine. It went through all of the cycles! I found in in the bottom of my tub, when I took all clothes out. I let it sit for two days, to give any water inside time to dry, and just turned it on. IT WORKS FINE!! Wow!!
