Good easy read,
I visited Thailand for the month of July 2017, I was in BKK and Chiang Mai, I saw none of the nasty underground spoken of in this book, but I knew it had to be there. This book was fascinating and entertaining from start to end, can’t wait for the movie!!!

Kept me interested
I have no experience with abuse, drugs or prison. Thank God! This book gave me insight and kept me interested. I'm not sure that it was always grammatically correct, but it was easy to read. I do have a few questions. How did you get rid of the drugs that were hidden in your clothing or up the rectum? Did they not perform a strip search or a body cavity search? What was so heartbreaking about the relationship with the Thai girlfriend that led to the drug relapse? Was there not a withdraw from the drugs when they were stopped suddenly? More info about these areas would have added to the book in my opinion. All and all, it was a very good 1st book. I'm excited to see Charlie being your story to life.

Good book and highly entertaining
I first gained interest from this book by watching the trailer of the movie. From the trailer I thought this would be an epic showcase of Muay thai in prison fight for your life type of stuff. Although it was in a way it was more about drug addiction and self abuse. If you are looking for a highly entertaining story about prison and life in SEA , this book is for you. Good book, I expected a bit more but the fact it is based on true events holds a lot of value.

This is a MUST READ ~ Billy Moore's A Prayer Before Dawn
This book is gripping from start to finish. When Billy takes you into his dark drug world, you are right there with him. You feel like you are ringside for his Thai boxing matches and sitting in the hellish conditions of the Thai prison with him. He overcomes so much and is such an inspiration to anyone who reads this book or comes into contact with him. Billy is a modern day hero in every sense of the word. GREAT read and the movie starring Charlie Hunnam as Billy Moore will be epic.

This is a must read true story
I am very moved after reading this book. Billy brought to light his demons that he was facing while in prison in Thailand. The more I read the book the more I felt as if I could to relate to some of the inner demons he was facing. To have an addiction while in prison is something that I can't even imagine. And to read how horrible the inmates were treated in Thailand. It really made me think how lucky I have it. I fight my own inner demons everyday. But Billy didn't let his demons or prison get the best of him. He is a fighter and a survivor. His story is very moving, and I recommend reading it because it is eye opening. I can't wait for the movie to come out with Charlie Hunnam playing the part of Billy Moore.

Worth the read.
I bought this book on impulse from a little shop in Thailand where I went in to buy water. Once I cracked the spine open, I turned the pages with ease. The story takes a candid look at the consequences of relapse from addiction without blaming parents, neighborhoods or "the system". Moore paints a clear portrait of the internal struggles of sobriety long after the last drink or sniff and the uncontrollable hell that relapse wrecks on a person's life.Moore's style is direct and without self-pity. His descriptions of the living conditions, the inmates and the guards of the infamous Hilton Hell (Bangkok jail) still haunt me. The book's ending is abrupt. However, what the book lacks in more in-depth views of Moore's inner turmoil, it makes up with hope for those who battle to find their way back after relapse.

A Prayer Before Dawn
This book is so genuine.. It's gritty, gut-wrenching and heartbreaking all at the same time.. Billy is brutally open and honest in the story- but through it all he accepts responsibility for his choices and chose to learn and grow from his experience rather than to give in and take the easy way out.. I love this book!! Billy is a true warrior

interesting book but not whats advertised
I believe with all my heart that Billy endured true hell on earth both self inflicted and environment of prison and I commend him on his fight to stay clean and sober. But as a reader I was sorely disappointed. The storyline jumped all over the place, there was poor character exploration (I often found myself saying ok who is this guy, where did he come from, and what eventually happened to him). I also had the expectation from reading the story description that was far from what actually was written. The ending was a big let down....not whet I expected. Also did he continue his religious choice? The fact it will be a movie kind of surprises me but best of luck and hope its a success! have time picturing the gentleman that is supposed

Es un libro corto y sin grandes pretensiones que cuenta la historia real de un hombre encarcelado en Tailandia. Se lee muy rápido y el testimonio es interesante.

Great book
Really great book. Although he had a hellish experience mainly brought on by his addictions it hard not to like the guy. He didn’t whinge or become a victim. He soldiered on and tried to make the most of it,which would have been extremely hard in the Thai prisons. Great book 5stars
