Review: Incredible book! - First off, she is absolutely incredible. Your chances of ever running into someone who has the charisma, compassion, and straight up tenacity to look cancer in the face and say I will not live my life based off an interpenetration of what others think of me -- are very few. She's a truly inspiring person! That being said, she always delivers incredible products that are very educational and informative. She knows just about everything you need to know about the plants! I think a lot of people think a plant based diet can't taste so good. After reading this you'll have a different idea. There's incredible stuff in here. You have Vegetable Maki Rolls in here. (Which to be completely honest I've wanted to make these for quite some time, I know of multiply occasion's were I actually wanted to walk behind the counter and make some Vegetable Maki Rolls with the chief!) There's Walnut Falafel. Incredible Salads - you got Cucumber Sesame Salad, Lettuces and Citrus salad, Greens and Berries, something for everybody. Some great juice! To be honest I'm male who watches Football every Sunday and I never really cared about the taste of juice or anything for that matter -- I just try to eat healthy. I usually just throw a bunch of random green stuff in the blender and hope it tastes good -- I don't recommend this strategy. However, now after reading this I found sevearl very simple ways to make it taste good. There's over 150 recipes all of which are amazing, there's something in here that everyone can incorporate into breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It contains very straight forward and simple instructions. I highly recommend you get a copy. Also, this is a great gift to give to anyone who's interested in a healthy lifestyle. Review: Healthy Eating + A Work of Art - I am so in love with this cookbook. All of the recipes I have made so far have been simple and delicious. I mean, really delicious. Chad Sarno is a truly gifted chef. This cookbook has made me feel so much more confident an happy to be in the kitchen. My husband and I like the juice recipes so much that we are now making enough for 2 juices a day. The beginning of the book (before the recipes) is packed with useful tips and a crash course on healthy eating. I learned a lot that I didn't know before about knife skills and cooking tools. As an artist, I noticed right away the gorgeous design of the book, the beautiful photos, the easy to identify symbols with each recipe and special notes from Chef Chad. It is a healthy eating revolution, work-of-art cookbook! And of course, Kris Carr is a riot! She makes healthy eating fun and so doable. My husband and I are both very inspired and grateful. I highly recommend this book!!!

Oozing with Vegggenthusiasm
I have admired the world of vegan, and raw vegan nutrition for years. I say admire, because every time I've tried to incorporate it into my life I have failed, and then flailed in defeat. I don't use cookbooks; cooking just hasn't been something that gets me excited. Ever. But I kinda follow Kris on the internets, and had used a Youtube video of hers to make proper use of my over-priced juicer. She is so fun... So I got CSK back in November, and it sat on my desk just looking sexy for a month or two. Then about 2 weeks ago, upon seeing my fridge was completely empty and a trip to the grocery was in order--I decided to finally take a moment and see if there was a recipe I could shop for... It started with a simple salad dressing. "Oh wow, this is so easy." DELICIOUS. Then I found myself going back to the store for a handful of new spices. And more veggies. (Probably more veggies than I've eaten in the last 3 months...) Then asking my neighbor what a parsnip was... and if I could borrow some yellow miso. And ordering funny little slicers and nut bags from Amazon. And making a date to hit the farmers market! It's like a whole new woman is living in my apartment, making me delicious, nutritious, beautiful meals. I have NEVER wanted to be in the kitchen for more than 15 minutes at a time, and last night I sat down and wrote out a meal plan to make sure I had all the ingredients for the recipes I want to try this week. Zesty lemon lentil soup last night (warm and savory yet light and fresh!?); just finished the farmer's salad for lunch (this watercress is unreal; what the heck is aioli!? It's delish; that's what it is). I cannot tell you--this food makes me SO HAPPY. Which is to say--this book is beyond good. It is ceiling-shattering good for a girl who's been trying to drop gluten and dairy and processed junk and spontaneous h'angry episodes due to poor planning FOR YEARS. All these veggies have me feeling like Popeye...in Lulu pants. I seriously feel all the love and goodness you packed into this, Kris Carr. THANK YOU. And if you write another I'll buy 10 copies.

Inspiring, if a little too chef-y
This is a beautiful book, full of so much great information about why we need to re-evaluate the way we eat. I really appreciated the discussion on why meat and dairy is detrimental to our bodies, and that it was presented in an inspiring way, showing you how much tastier, lively, and energizing it is to eat a plant based diet! Seeing this book is on the market is so encouraging, I'm sure it will inspire hundreds of thousands of people to eat for health! The colorful layout is really nice and its full of great recipes. I especially like the awesome dressings and condiments (cashew cream cheese!), with exciting complex flavors that really put your recipes over the top and make eating plant based enjoyable and delicious. My one caveat with this book is that there are a lot of recipes that are too "chef-y"... I've read many, many cookbooks and am passionate about cooking, and what I really want when I'm cooking at home is straight-forward, down to earth recipes that deliver amazing food. If CSK thinks I'm about to whip out a commercial smoker and hickory chips to smoke some king trumpet mushrooms for a recipe, please GET REAL. If I wanted restaurant style food and presentation, I'd go to a restaurant. Its highly disappointing to see that kind of thing in a cookbook, because it is so unnecessary for amazing home cooking. Also, the insane overuse of alliteration and cutesy language throughout the book almost made me sick to my stomach. But, I really don't want to be too critical, its a powerful book, and I do have a lot of love for it- its a must have! I should say though, that at the same time I bought this book, I bought Superfood Kitchen by Julie Morris, and it gets pretty much daily use, the recipes are very approachable- I highly recommend it as well!

Crazy Sexy Delicious
This books is amazing. It is filled with great information about health, useful cooking tips, and amazing recipes. Kris Carr explains the benefits of plant empowered eating as well as serving as a beautiful role model for a healthy and balanced life. The cooking tips are great and have really helped me in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking more, I save more time, and I'm encouraged to try new things. And the food... Oh the food! Everything I've tried has been wonderful (which is almost every recipe!) and I know that its good for me too. I've used many of the recipes to bring to parties and people cannot tell it's completely plant-based. I've been asked for the recipes. I have left the book our on the counter only to find my friends reading it in the kitchen. I have also sent this book as a gift to family and friends and have heard nothing but excited reviews and thank yous. This book has also helped me to get my man to eat his veggies so just for that, this book has paid for itself a hundred times over. I've now incorporated many of my favorites (Mango Coconut Millet, Crazy Sexy Kale, Strawberry Fields Smoothie, Avo Toast, and the list goes on) into my daily routine and have gone days at a time without eating any animal products. It's pretty amazing. If you think vegetarian food is boring, this book with change your mind! It's crazy, sexy, delicious!

Crazy, sexy and yummy!
I just got this book two hours ago and I couldn't wait to get to the computer to leave a review. I'm a fan of Kris, so I might be a little biased, but let me tell you this book is a must for everyone! The recipes are super tempting and yummy looking. I haven't actually cooked any of them yet, but I bet they will taste as good as they look. The book starts with general information as to WHY you should eat like this more often. So not only you get a cookbook but also a super concise version of all her nutrition advice. Then you get to the recipes. It has smoothie recipes, juices, breakfast items, soups and stews, sandwiches, main dishes, sides, snacks, desserts. All of them look like something that you would order at a restaurant, nothing "weird" or too out there. Just yummy food that anyone can cook. Just by replacing a couple of your regular recipes with Kris' recipes you are on your way to a healthier you. I am not vegan, and the recipes look like normal recipes to me, I mean....french toast, sweet potato hash browns, chili, wild mushroom croquettes, pita pizzas, black bean and sweet potato burgers, etc...I can't wait to get in the kitchen and start cooking!. Thank you Kris for putting this wonderful book together, it is among my favorite cookbooks so far and I own over 150 of them!

Yum!
At first I checked this book out from the library, because while I own Crazy Sexy Diet, and I think Kris Carr is darling and a wonderful voice in the world, I didn't LOVE CSD or the recipes in it (don't get me wrong: i appreciated the consolidated info in CSD. I've been on the healing journey myself, and this is probably the most concise and complete (and light hearted - which is very important) book in the genre, so still a couple of thumbs up for CSD - I just knew i didn't need a repeat of it, and based on some reviews i was skeptical). So, two days with the library book and I've run to amazon to purchase it. I've made all the juices, most of the smoothies, several starters and a couple of main courses (my husband has been psyched! and very, very full). There are some delicious recipes in here - the kind that if you ordered it at a restaurant, you'd be psyched, but you just made it (hearts of palm crab cakes? can i tell you how excited i am to try that? I've made the crepes and beet ravioli - finally, "foodie" food that's seriously healthy (i never thought you could have this kind of cuisine without butter!). Chef Chad Sarno is excellent, and I'm pleased he teamed with KC so that I could learn of him and have the benefit of his recipes. It's an exciting and inspiring cookbook with really tasty recipes and KC's signature bouncy fun. Highly recommend.

Trust me, you will not feel deprived eating these recipes!
Great book & cookbook! I certainly have not tried all the recipes but already have some favorites! Other's have noted that some of the recipes seem involved or use ingredients that they may have to purchase. For me, I was looking for fabulous recipes that I would love. This book delivers. Okay recipes that have few ingredients and are super simple have their place but if you are looking to make this a lifestyle, great taste is paramount. So far, some of my favorites includes: Curried Nada-Egg with Watercress Wraps (my adult children did not know it was not eggs and have requested it), Squash Pasta with Sage Pesto (the pesto is to die for - I have used leftover mixed with Balsamic for salad dressing), Beetroot Ravioli with Cashew Cream Cheese (love this one! the Cashew Cream Cheese has many uses including some of the wrap recipes), Sage Polenta with Nana's Marinara, Cashew Cream Cheese, and the Raw Apple-Spiced Rum Shortcake with Maple Vanilla Glaze (you will think this came from a 5 star restaurant). Trust me, you will not feel deprived! Next I am going to try the lasagna. I highly recommend. If I could make one change, I would have liked more pictures.

Brilliant, Informative
Brilliant, Informative, fun and sexy. The authors are inspiring...as are the photos. Every recipe that I have tried is perfect without any necessary doctoring. The presentations are beautiful. The book is divided into "courses" instead of chapters, with the first 79 pages dedicated to the Philosophy; the Kitchen Staples (most of which are readily available) and their preparation with detailed and clear instructions; and Kitchen skills and cooking techniques. The following 200 pages of plant-empowered recipes (there are recipes by a number of guest chefs- notably Tal Ronnen) with comments and tips that are pure bliss. This is a book that will satisfy all cooks from beginner to expert cooks as well as vegan to omnivore diners alike. Healthy eating brought to new heights.

Get this book! It is not just a cook book.
This is no ordinary cook book. Kris's passion and sense of humour permeate every page. I am newb to vegan eating and have purchased several other cook books over the past few months. I am pleased with each of them but none were a pleasure to sit and read like "Crazy, Sexy Kitchen". And I'm not even talking about the recipes yet. There are pictures for almost every recipe (important to a lousy cook like myself) and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I have only had a chance to try 2 recipes but it is obvious (having read through the entire book) that I will be cooking up many of these mouth-watering recipes for years to come. I first saw Chef Sarno on the "Planeat" documentary. I had to try his recipes from their site. They are now mainstays in my healthy kitchen. I will be buying several more copies for friends! Update: Get this book! Really! I have tried 6 more recipes and they are AMAZING! Easy, glamourous and oh SO tasty!
