Mason and McCall Smith's Law and Medical Ethics

Brilliant book
I used this book to assist in writing my Masters dissertation. A legal principle was explained so clearly that I was able to explain this in my own words in my dissertation. Got a great result too.

Comprehensive and accessible, up-to-date
As an American health-law professor on an academic visit to Edinburgh 15 years ago, I was lucky enough to take a medical-law course using this casebook (in an earlier edition) taught (with Sharon Cowan) by its co-editors Ken Mason and Graeme Laurie. I've bought every new edition of the book since, and have found it an invaluable and easily-understandable guide to the developing treatment of important bioethics issues by UK medical law. Clearly-written, frequently-updated by leading medical-law scholars. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Stephen Latham, JD, PhD, Director, Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics

Decent enough.
Covers the field of medical law quite well. It's mostly a good read - though some chapters (notably ch.12) display fairly poor syntax which makes reading & understanding harder than it should be.
