Brown Boy Joy

I love this book! The graphics are super cute!My only concern is there is a page that talks about being loved by everyone. On the page it seems like little brown boys with family members like mom & dad but then there is one with a little boy & two women. My personal beliefs would not have allowed me to purchase this book for my son had I known it pushes an anti Christian agenda (IMO).I Asked my 4 y/o who each person was with the little boys and he said mom & aunt when it got to the two women so that's the only reason I'm not sending it back.All in all it's a pretty good book I just wish there was some type of warning that there is lbgt content.

A wonderful book to encourage brown boys to “shine like gold” I bought this for my 7 month old foster boy who has been totally a brown boy JOY since he came into our home shortly after birth. It excites him when I read it with enthusiasm. I love the illustrations, some of the wording. “I walk into the room with my head held high.” And the emphasis on being kind. I thought there could have been more depth somehow to the content. Some of it seems superficial. That said, I will buy it again for my future babies and read it with enthusiasm!

It's my nephew's favorite book

It always good for children to be able to relate to the material they are being taught. This should be a great book for him.

Definitely one of my child’s favorite books to read. He loves the bold and colorful artwork. Lol he even chose one of the characters in the book to identify with, telling me that’s him mommy. The positive affirmations are super easy for him to read but also greatly impactful. My child is 4 years of age and he loves to read. I am happy to add this book to our collection of book with characters that look like him. Representation is very important. Thank you for creating this book. You are appreciated.

Wish I could leave two reviews. The content of the book is fine but the manner in which Amazon delivered the item was terrible. It was in an envelope and stuffed inside my mailbox resulting in a permanent crease and damaged book. Not acceptable for a Christmas gift. The only thing worse was trying to contact customer service. After finally getting an option to chat with someone it’s like he was oblivious to everything I typed. I just ended requesting a refund but unfortunately I have to waste my time to drop the damaged book off.

I’d like to start this off by saying I am the mother of a little white boy who sees himself represented in all forms of media all the time. What he doesn’t see often however, is little Brown and Black boys represented in a celebratory way like they are in this book. Yes there might be a Black or Brown character in a show or book but normally they’re a side character who isn’t given much depth or celebrated along with their melanin. This book is a huge game changer. A beautiful array of little Black and Brown boys just playing and being happy just being allowed to be kids. This is the first children’s book I’ve seen that hasn’t acted like these children’s skin color is either something to ignore or something to explain as if it is detrimental to their character. They aren’t token BIPOC for some other characters story or growth. It isn’t pandering to a white audience because it shouldn’t be. It’s simply a beautiful book full of positive affirmations that celebrate Black and Brown boys as they should be celebrated. I would absolutely recommend this book to any and all parents! Absolutely love this for my boys!

Lovely book for little brown boys. Positive words that our young boys need to hear to encourage them to love themselves as they are, build confidence and understand that they are loved, seen and can be anything they want to be if they work hard and put their minds to it.

Well written and positive book for children. I bought the book to go with a gift card for a baby shower. Instead of wasting money and trees on a card that will be thrown out I gave this book with a message from me to the mom and child. The mother loved it.
