McCann's Irish Oatmeal, Quick & Easy Steel Cut Oats, 16 Ounce (Pack of 12)

I love the crunch, even after cooking, of McCann's Quick and Easy Steel Cut Oatmeal, and what's more, it leaves me filled and energized for hours afterward. I haven't eaten any other brand or type of oatmeal since I first tasted it. The quick version suits me best; prep time takes only 4+ minutes, and combined with blueberries (or apples and cinnamon), walnuts, milk, and a touch of brown sugar - wow. The orders I've received from Amazon consistently have a Best By date at least a year, sometimes two, in the future. The price went up significantly in the past two years (like everything else), so I had to cut back on quantity, but I won't ever not eat it. It's too good and nourishing.

If you are an old fashioned oatmeal fan, this is a very tasty alternative. Different texture than rolled oats but not that wall paper paste result of "instant" offerings. Different tasting while delivering a substantial meal.

If you like steel cut oatmeal that you can make in five to six minutes this is it. The price is reasonable and is close to the lowest price I could find in a few states. TRY IT!

All the stores in my area have dropped this great tasting, quick and easy prepared oatmeal. I make mine with cinnamon, oat silk and French vanilla coffee creamer

Hard to get

I like the texture and the process of how it is made, yet it cooks pretty quickly. We enjoy it.

Luckily Europe doesn’t allow the use of glyphosate in harvesting wheat

I read an article in Guardian about the perfect porridge. Couldn't source this stuff in the supermarket so bought online.All I can say is... meh. It's not as high quality as that moonflake or mooncup or moonbeam or whatever they call it in the local health shop.The grains were not as coarse as I was hoping (I'm on a quest to find a really nicely ground or steel cut coarse oatmeal) and frankly there were a lot of "fines" in the packet which just sully the overall texture as they turn very quickly to mush in the mix of the porridge.

I love this oatmeal. I grew up in New York City, and this was something you'd find in specialty shops there. It's much different from rolled oats, because it takes a lot longer to cook (not the 5 minutes it says on the can), and it doesn't get as mushy as standard rolled out flakes. It's flavorful and delicious, and I love cooking this up for a hot breakfast on a cold morning.

Good breakfast porridge. micro wave for longer than usual to ensure the meal is cooked through, and not gritty.

By far one of the best tasting. I have been buying McCann's for years now from steel cut to quick and easy! However, I have steadily seen the price increase over the years and this latest price is insane! I used to be able to get 2 boxes/tins for the price they selling now. I’d rather just eat Scott’s porridge which is a fraction of the cost and gives more or less the same benefits. Such a shame.
