I used solder.
My cable wires very thin so I decided to solder them to the underside of the printed circuit board rather than use the wire clamping screws. This connector works as expected with no issues.

These were perfect
Great item for my purposes, allowing me to create a custom breakout cable for my RS232 connections. Worked extremely well, and I will probably be purchasing more in the near future.

Received 4 female, no male, and not 5
The packaging in general was weird for this; there's clearly parts for 5 plugs, but it's entirely female (no male, despite the description), and it's just 4 instead of 5.I really wish I had looked at this closer when I bought it for project work; it's infuriating to get to the project and encounter QC issues like this.

Far too Large
These ends are far too large to be practical. They wouldn't fit properly/fully in multiple RS-232 devices with the casing on it. They work, that's a positive, but not practical. Won't be buying again :(.

Issue with Product
I received the product as the picture attached. I'll try to put the pins in the correct way and see if it's working but if not I will need a replacement

10 Terminals ideal for home projects and serial protocols
Really pleased with these items. I have recommended purchasing them for work. The ability to rewire without using solder is ideal for serial comms as that is so easy to get wrong (plus all the strange ways to document interconnectivety).There are 10 terminals, 9 for the usual d-sub conductors and ground.

Good option for making up communication cables.
I needed to make some communication cables up for a project, (RS232) Great solderless option and easy to reconfigure.Larger than a soldered option but convenience was the number 1 factor in purchasing this.

Exactly what it was supposed to be
d-sub 9-pin breakout connector. Great for terminating benchtop experiments into DAQ or SCADA interfaces quickly and flexibly.The housings are large as other commentators have mentioned but I haven't really been using them so that doesn't bother me.

A very versatile set of connectors
Used these connectors to build a special cable for an Omron NT31C programmable terminal. Connecting this device to my PC required buying an expensive original equipment cable or building my own inexpensive cable with these connectors. Easy to work with and saved me money. Quality materials that I would recommend to others.
