This review is for the Red Crystal Incense sold by Tibet A Gift. Sometimes various sellers will sell “New Red Crystal” incense as “Red Crystal” so you have to be careful. Pics show the difference, but the real difference is the smell. True Red Crystal incense has a magical, dreamy smell that takes me back to all the times I spent in Tibetan temples in India and Nepal. “New Red Crystal” smells *nothing* like it, it’s much lower quality, thinner sticks that don’t burn very long. Real Red Crystal incense, one of these sticks burns for over an hour. It smells fragrant with minimal smokiness, it’s not cloying or chemical-smelling, the magic of real high quality traditional incense is that it manages to have a strong incense smell while still feeling like it’s a completely natural emanation rather than some kind of man-made perfume. Anyway, Red Crystal incense is worth the extra cost, if you don’t believe me go ahead and buy some Red Crystal and some New Red Crystal and maybe some other kinds of cheaper Tibetan incense and try them side by side, you will see that there’s no comparison. Red Crystal is the best Tibetan incense and this seller here is the most reliable source I have found. You can’t go wrong. Also this seller is super sweet and friendly and will send you very sincere handwritten notes of thanks, and usually some free samples of several other nice kinds of incense, some note pads and calendars and postcards, and so on. My orders have always arrived well-packed in cheerily decorated mailers. It was a delight, it brightened my day.

I saved the empty box of this incense for years so I could remember it. It is a lovely, spicy, woody (not floral) fragrance that leaves the house and yard smelling wonderful. It was my favorite incense ever and I couldn't find it anywhere. It's here on Amazon and the seller (TIBET A GIFT) is fabulous. The price is not much more than I paid over 15 years ago. I tried one box and it is authentic so I just stocked up. It's hard to find. Excellent quality and consistency.
