This is a heavy piece of real wood! sturdy and beautiful, this has a little drawer, and has a 70/30 split top, with the bigger section able to tilt up and lock. fabulous value for the money, will be purchasing at least 1 more!

This desk looks beautiful and the material seems good, but as soon as i opened it and turned it right side up, the drawer and one of the wooden tracks fell right off. I figured it was an easy fix, if annoying, and screwed the track back in. In seconds, it fell right back off. I may be able to fix it using larger screws, but it was pretty disappointing to have this damaged right out of the box.Overall, I’m keeping it because the desk itself seems fine, and it matches my furniture well. I believe this was a defect with my specific piece and not an overall issue with the product, but it’s still not good.

I was in the market for one of these for a few weeks before I came across this one. Most of the ones I liked were weirdly expensive! But this one was a great price ($17.30 when I bought it), and was actually the same shade of wood as the furniture in my room, so it was an easy choice. Because it cost SO much less than other similar lapdesks, I expected it to be cheap and shoddy. I was not at all prepared for the high quality of this desk!It is real wood, it is sturdily built, and it works exactly as promised. There is very little that I would change, but there are a few things, which is why the 4 stars:1) The bar that keeps the laptop from sliding off is fixed, and ones I've used in the past were removable. Removable would be better.2) It is sturdy and heavy, yes, but HEAVY. I would probably go as far as to say TOO heavy. It really is a solid piece! Unfortunately, solid isn't always what you need when you need portable!3) This is the biggest deal to me, by far: The legs and the drawer do not lock into place at all. So when you fold it up to set aside, the legs swing back open. And though the drawer has a stopper that keeps it from falling out entirely, it does fall right open when you turn this desk on its side. For both of these issues, I plan to make some adjustments myself to keep these things mobile when I want to move them, but fixed when I don't want them to move. Though I think the fix will be fairly easy for me to accomplish, I feel like this is something they should have done on their end, and it would have saved me a lot of frustration so far!All in all, though, this is a great lapdesk for a great price! I am so glad I bought it that when I came here to write this review, I saw a "like new" one selling for a discount, so I bought it too, even though I don't even need a second one! But I am sure I will be happy to have it on-hand when the need arises.

Very flimsy hardware- shaky, especially the little bit that the back to hold the top up. Wood damaged in quite a few places, cracked, peeling, dented. Honestly, wouldn't recommend.

PROs:- Good quality and attractive finish. It's definitely one of the better looking lap tables available on amazon. I got it in walnut and I love the colour.- Nice functional features, I like the ledge at the bottom and the tilt option, works great for holding laptops and big books. I don't use the drawer much, but it might be good for napkins or pens.- Fold away neatly for easy storageCONs:- Initially the one I received had a scratch on the surface that looked painted over, so I exchanged it without a problem.- I agree with some of the reviewers that the legs are a bit short. It's not a problem for me since I'm pretty small, but I can't have a thick blanket on my legs and still have table over my legs. The height up to the bottom of edge of the table is 15cm, just to give you an idea.Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

For the price it is a decent value...the biggest complaints I've read seem to be that the legs fold under easily (and I suppose with a breakfast plate on it, that would be less than amusing), but I simply keep my hands on the legs while positioning it over my lap or setting it aside, so they don't fold under...could it use a lock mechanism? Sure, but it is not something that with awareness can't be navigated around...2nd complaint I have seen is that it is too low (i.e. not enough lap height clearance)...well, for me that was key as i use it to write with in bed, and the other were too high for my wrist typing level....it is lower than average, it's true, and if you've got bigger or thicker legs it will not be ideal for you...but that aside, it has served me well...for the amount being charged it has been a good value.
