I have relaxed hair. I purchased this oil because my hair is super-dry 5-6 weeks post relaxer. It seems that no matter what I do, both my hair and scalp are totally parched around that time. Breakage is inevitable. Over the years I tried many products in an attempt to combat the dryness. Nothing seemed to work. I read several reviews about Jamaican Black Castor Oil and it's benefits, so I tried a few castor oil brands that were a little lighter and scented. They were okay, but did not pack the punch of the heavier, darker blend. This extra dark blend is exactly what my hair needs. It is extremely hydrating and moisturizing. I add it to my scalp and hair after washing and to my ends daily. I only use it once per week (strictly on my ends) at the 1-4 week mark as it can make the hair heavy. It is the 5-6 week mark where my hair requires a heavy oil. Since I have been using this product, I notice less breakage and shedding. Even my hair dresser noticed that my hair was much more hydrated at my most recent relaxer appointment than at any other time. If you're looking for a sweet scented product, this may not be for you. It has a very earthy smell that is not particularly pleasant or unpleasant. If you want a product that delivers with managing dryness and breakage, this product may be for you. I am totally sold on the extra dark castor oil and it will be a part of my ongoing hair maintenance routine.

Not the best smell lol but i love this castor oil. I've tried other companies and this is the only company I useeee. Love the easy to apply noz and i use the Lemongrass, Lavender, Eucalyptus & first time trying this one. The Lemongrass, Lavender & Eucalyputs smells better but eachh infusion of the oil are for specific things so keep that in mind when choosing. This one will help with grays due to the rosemary. But i dont need it for that no grays yet i just love this brand so i got anything i could get fast cause its thr only thing that works for my head the drinks up moisture that i can atleast go 1-2 days without oiling. 🙄

I refuse to believe that this stuff was not in the Garden of Eden. This stuff is a miracle worker. I originally purchase this castor oil based of a video that I found on YouTube on how to get rid of a corn on your toe. The lady spoke about this specific brand of castor oil so I thought I would give it a try. As I discovered while researching castor oil I realize that it healed a lot of discoloration on your skin so I thought that I would give it a try on other parts of my body. I wear my hair really short and I bleach my hair blonde. During this process my edges thinned out and the top of my forehead usually gets darker to the point to where I have to wear concealer around the edges of my forehead although I do not wear makeup on the rest of my face. So I thought that I would use this castor oil to try to get rid of the discoloration on my hairline. Along with that I found out that castor oil also helps you grow your edges back I have been without edges for a long time and had gotten used to not having any. Needless to say this castor oil has helped grow back my edges nicely , even out my skin around my hair line and on the back of my head where the clippers had caused darkening on the nap of my neck . After I seen that this castor oil did so well on my edges and on my hairline I decided to use it on my feet. I do have dry skin on my feet and each summer I have to find something new to use on my feet so that I can wear my pretty high heel sandals. This castor oil has given me the prettiest feet and has even even out the discoloring around the side of my feet I am not ashamed to show my feet now. I love looking at my feet now. All in all originally I got this for the corn on my feet it has helped with the color around the corn so the corn doesn't look as obvious. I am sold on this product and will continue to purchase it I just wish they had a larger bottle

This is the first oil of any kind that I've tried that actually leaves my hair and scalp feeling soft and hydrated like no other oil has before. I've used other brands of Black Jamaican Castor Oil (JBCO) that just sits on top of my very low porosity hair. I've also used pure castor oil (not Jamaican Black), olive oil, coconut oil, argan oil, sesame seed oil, tea tree oil, all with the same result; an oil slick on my head and heavy weighed-down, very dry hair and sometimes with a very pungent (not foul, just strong) hair odor. Anything containing soybean oil is strictly off limits to me because it weakens my hair and causes outrageous breakage. Okay brand JBCO is PURE, JBCO is it's only ingredient, and the only oil that I plan to use. Also, my hair is growing so fast and my bangs have more than doubled their length in two months. Of course I'm nurturing my hair and scalp. I exfoliate my scalp every wash day and I'm kind and gentle with my locks. For example, I've switched from permanent hair color to temporary color, I generally heavily hydrate my hair throughout the week until wash day. I use leave in conditioners and then Okay's JBCO and I keep it in twists! I gave the front of my hair, my entire head really, a huge chop to get rid of damaged ends and I was left with an inch of hair pulled down my forehead natural, and about two and a half inches pulled down while straightened) it was short. I now have five inches when my natural hair is pulled down to my forehead and I don't plan to straighten it again for several weeks; not until it's time for my next trim. Always trim while hair is straight; I found out the hard way that trimming while natural can leave huge disparities in hair length. Summary: If you've tried other brands of JBCO and have been disappointed, try this one. You may be very pleasantly surprised like I was. P.S. It comes in a GLASS bottle so there's no danger of chemicals from a plastic bottle leeching into the oil! Yet another reason to LOVE Okay brand JBCO! Great for hot oil treatments too!

Great quality, but the smell and consistency isn’t great for hair oiling. Smells smoky almost and the oil is very thick. I will not be purchasing again.

If you are consistent, this works. I went to the dermatologist and had a biopsy and was advised that the huge 3 inches by 1.5 inches bald spot in the center of my head was due to over processing (chemical such as relaxers and coloring). I didn't believe him because I was balding all over my body, spots on my legs, arms, etc. So I have a lil hair grow now and then, but never like this. It's been a little over 1 month and I have hair growing. You can actually comb it. It's patchy especially where they did the biopsy, not much hair there, but when it grows it will surely be a million times better than what was not there before. Everyone from the hair dresser to the nutritionist blamed the fact that I had diabetes, but I still have diabetes and my hair is growing thanks to the Okay Castor Oil. I put on my edges, eyebrows, and eyelashes. All thicker and growing but my edges are growing much slower. I believe it's because I wear a wig which is probably pulling on my edges more. But with 3 turnaround successes out of 4, I'm really thankful!!! Also, I use it on my moles the last month and they are drying up and getting smaller (smaller ones are gone and the bigger ones are smaller). The oil is thick but in the morning it is absorbed into your skin. I also noticed last night that when I missed rubbing the castor oil on my eyelids, I had trouble falling to sleep. So it has been a natural sleep aid for me too. I can't say it will work for you that way but to someone who used to have a lot of sleepless nights, I am thankful!!! Be consistent and in a month or sooner, you will see a difference!!!

I went through a divorce and suddenly found myself with severe hairloss from the stress. It'll also help your nails grow thick and long and I also put it on my brows. I recommend the unscented kind. It's thick, so be prepared. I apply it in the evenings and let it sit overnight, then wash out in the morning. When I first started using, I applied ~3 times per week, now I'm 1-2 times/week (typically on my self-care Sundays).

My hair is growing fast with this oil. It's thick and rich. I've been using it since around 4 months. My type 4 hair grows better than usual. I'm using the conditioner and shampoo too. I really recommend this oil.
