Must I use the tab-lock with the stainless strapping? It does not seem to hold well. Do you have a crimper for stainless?

Band it ( manufacturer) makes a banding gun that is unmatched in strap cutting scope. CO7569 I think as the p/n. Run about 300 bucks but... last forever, less time for install, spare parts available at any distributor that sells them.

Why would I use this instead of the other tools with the spinner tightener? I put up signs on poles up high. Would this be better?

The spinner becomes stripped out quickly if you have a lot of projects. This tool works better and is faster and has a much better grip as well versus the spinner tool.

Will this work for poly straps?

the only thing I will say about this one, versus the one the seller linked... is that I am using this one for round bundles, in combination with slide-to-lock clips like this ASIN B004OR1CUM - and it is working BRILLIANTLY!! difficult to showcase exactly how without a video, but if you look for similar ratchets with special noses, this one is working great for me. The other poly ratchet linked has trouble getting round bundles tight enough while still getting the ratchet back out from under the poly strap. I am using poly strap, and this is working great!.

Will this work with pvc coated strap

Yes, our company mainly uses pvc coated strapping. Only problem is it takes 2 hands to tighten and then cut it.

Using with Poly strap and small round bundles...

Love this, almost spent $360 on a similar ratchet in the UK designed for round bundles, the nose on this one works great with slide to lock clips like this ASIN B004OR1CUM I am using 1/2 inch poly strapping, working great so far.

Cheap material doesn’t last long.

I purchased this item for work and we use the tool quite often. Well Today my band it took broke. The gears won’t stay in place and I can’t crank down the bands. Not a good item to buy if you going to use it o a regular basis
