microSHIFTR10 2 x 10-Speed Road Flat Bar Shifters with Optical Gear Indicator

I have to start by saying that I’ve been cycling now for around 28 years. I have recently retired and continue to love and enjoy cycling and love to still do half centuries and centuries with others as well as just simple daily rides for fitness reasons. Now being retired and on a fixed income, I have found that I need to monitor my spending for obvious reasons. As everyone is aware, cycling components of any quality are pricey and can put you in a situation of do or don’t do an upgrade or replacement.Being a Shimano, SRAM consumer, I’ve grown to trust the products over a long period time. I’m a firm believer in getting what you pay for. I’ve owned and used both products for over a decade without fail or the functionality diminishing. However, as with anything of quality, you will fork out the gaup to own them. That said, I have recently given MicroShift a shot and purchased and used some of their products. Just as the others, they to have different levels of quality which in turn you pay more for. Recently, I needed to do a flat bar conversion on my road bike. Some background on the road bike; a Trek Madone 5.5, which Ive have owned for some time. As mentioned, a flat bar conversion was needed to continue to ride the bike long distances or at all. This is where I decided to purchase and try the flat bar R10 10 speed road shifters. These would replace the current MicroShift R10 drop bar road shifters. The derailleurs are MicroShift R10 components as well and have performed beyond satisfaction. They have NEVER had an issue or let me down during long rides. These components are butter smooth in operation and are as exact and precise as their competitors. Their finish is as good as the others as well and look great once fitted to the bike. Any who, the shifters in mention can be described as quality shifters and the first noticeable thing is how precise they shift. The butter smooth transition from one gear to another is very notable but only after the exact transition from gear to gear once the shift happens. I am extremely pleased and satisfied with these shifters and can honestly and confidently recommend them to anyone that needs to either upgrade or replace and save some gaup in doing so. I’m not diminishing the quality of either of the other manufacturers but there are times when you either just cannot justify or want to pay for a name and really just want a quality product that works. I can say from my experience, this is it. I will be adding photos of the conversion as soon as I am able. I wish you happy cycling ! I purchased these to convert my aunt’s bike from drop bar. Replaced 105 10spd STI levers with the Microshift and Taigra flatbar levers. Indexing is spot-on with the 105 rear derailleur, smooth activation and crisp shifts. The trim feature on the front shifter works great.
