It works. That's all that matters.
This device is not the most carefully built in the world, with dials that scrape at various points in the turn.That said, the preamp is solid and doesn't feel as if it will fall apart within a week. It also looks a whole lot better than many devices in this price range or a rack-type graphic equaliser.It does what I, at least, needed it to do which was to give me more control over sound tone so as not to make my neighbours' life a misery. I haven't noticed any material disruption to the sound quality coming out the other end that would cause me to disconnect it.For the price, the product works and it feels neither like an absolute steal nor a shoddy rip-off: it does what it is supposed to do.

Go with a valve / tube option
It's OK. Sound improved considerably by bypassing tone controls; this made it uselessfor what I wanted. Destroyed by cheaper valve / valve hybrid preamp options with a modest tube upgrade.

Sorry i did not like this unit
I got this unit thinking it would open the sound before I sent the audio to the main amp. But sorry to say this did not do the job for me and the unit feels not great as all the knobs rub on the side of the unit
