Where is? / ¿Dónde está? El Chavo (Bilingual: English/Spanish): A Bilingual Hide-and-Seek Book

My son is 5 years old and knows how to read in English very well but hadn't yet learned how to read in Spanish. This book had short sentences that he could easily read and understand in both English and Spanish. I also loved that the book was about el chavo del ocho and I was able use it to also introduce some of our hispanic culture to him. He enjoyed the book and it became one of his favorite bedtime books.

With Covid it’s hard to find Safe and fun ways to interact with grandparents and grandkids. I bought this book and sent it to my mother so that she could read it to my daughter. We have several of these kinds of books and they are all so colorful and fun. And they are a great way to introduce a culture to a little one. This one is no different. My daughter enjoyed being red too and touching the screen when she saw something interesting that she liked or recognized.

I bought this for my friends son and she loved it. It is an English and Spanish and the pictures are so cute.

love this book my son is half mexican so I'm determined he learn spanish and these help so much spanish is not my first language so these helps me keep up with my language skills as well

This book is so cute, we love how beautifully illustrated the characters are. I am so glad i found it for my little one!

Wonderful product!! It got my toddler to start saying "yes" and "sí" , not just his usual "no". Interactive and fun!

Super cute and nostalgic but we never find Chavó. I suppose it’s implied at the end but I feel like kids need it to be more direct.

so nice to see these books here on amazon. i grew up watching reruns of el chavo with my grandma and it’s so nice to be able to introduce my son to this little piece of mexican culture through this book.

La verdad es que este libro infantil es una joya. Las ilustraciones son tan coloridas y tiernas que eso, eso, eso hacen que los peques no quieran soltarlo. Los dibujos parecen cobrar vida y atrapan la atención incluso de los más chiquitines, como mi hijo de 10 meses. En cuanto a la calidad del material, tengo que decir como Don Ramón: “La venganza nunca es buena, mata el alma y la envenena”, pero en este caso la resistencia de las páginas es buenísima: aguantan babas, manotazos y hasta algún mordisco sin problema. ¡Un libro fuerte como pocos! Se lo dimos a mi hijo de 10 meses y fue un éxito inmediato. Quico diría: Cállate, cállate, cállate, que me desesperas… porque el niño no quería que nadie más lo tocara. Y concluyo como la Chilindrina: Fíjate, fíjate, fíjate, que este libro no solo entretiene, sino que también embellece la estantería infantil. En resumen: es que no me tienen paciencia, pero yo sí la tengo para recomendarlo una y otra vez. Un regalo ideal, bonito, resistente y lleno de ternura.

One of the greatest treasures in life that I hold dear is language and culture. It is my utmost desire to pass on these invaluable gifts to my daughter. Therefore, I believed that this book, along with the others i purchased, would provide a rich exploration of culture. Specifically, I anticipated finding captivating stories or enlightening facts about the TV show “el chavo” within its pages. Regrettably, it turned out to be solely focused about questions about “where is el chavo, with him hiding behind the window or behind a bush. This is a book readily available at any local store. Essentially, what you are paying for is merely an attractive cover. I say this with all due respect to the author, but I would not recommend purchasing this book if your intention is to educate your children about culture.
