Simple to use for cooking shrimp, but does it impart any flavor?
I purchased this spice mix for cooking shrimp. I followed a recipe for "Mighty Good Shrimp Salad" to bring to a boil four quarts of water and the Zatarain's bag. Then add the shrimp and 1 tablespoon salt and cook until the shrimp are curled and pink, about 2 minutes. Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon to cool. The shrimp came out great! But I couldn't tell if the spice mix made any difference in the shrimp's flavor. Would simply boiling the shrimp in salted water have come out the same? That's why I gave the Zatarain's four stars instead of five.

Great tasting and easy.
I use these for all my boils. I love the boil in the bag concept - so much easier and doesn't get the spices all over your seafood. You cannot beat this price.

Zatatarain's Crawfish and Shrimp Boil
I am extremely happy with this product. I thought it was 4.5 ounces, but it is 4.5 pounds. You can't beat the price. It comes in a sturdy container and it is easy to store. I love the Zatatarain's brand and I am positive that this is up to the Zatatarain's quality. I guess I am going to have to crack open my Louisiana cookbooks.

I absolutely love this crab boil mix! I’ve used it several times and a little goes a long way! Has amazing flavour and it really holds up! Giving it 4 stars just because it is so dang salty. But if you like it that when then great! I prefer the box packs then you can adjust the salt content yourself!
