This is a great book. Lots of beautiful photos. I am so interested in fashion, and this book is a great help.

First, this is a great coffee table book. I’m not sure how many, make and female, have picked it up to look at while in my living room. It covers many different fashion eras and gives an explanation of the designs. It is pretty interesting!

If you want to learn about fashion history, you will get much value from this book! I love the many pictures of real clothes, paintings, and sculptures of costumes throughout history. I have yet to finish the book, but I have already learned so much and picked up on the names of many historic garments. I believe this is a must-have book to learn and appreciate how costume and fashion have evolved over time.

The book features labeled lavish photographs of reconstructions and even artifacts and beautiful illustrations. The book explains the different pieces of costume. The book has small sections on antiquity and medieval ages, large sections on renaissance to the modern times.
