#Apollo13: The Miracle Journey of Apollo 13 (The APOLLO Missions to the Moon Book 3)

I really enjoyed this ride back through history...I remember watching in awe when each of these spacecraft went on their respective journeys....from the first Mercury flights ....to the last Apollo missions...I watched as these brave men ..truly went where no man has gone before....I love the way the author used today's Facebook type technology to tell this fantastic adventure that we as a nation as well as the world followed everyday that they were on their historic flights.... the idea of using Facebook type of presentation of this story let's us ....the readers see what thoughts and expressions the astronauts as well as those in the media following them were thinking and saying throughout this historic endeavour... I think many who were not born during this fantastic time in our history.. read this adventure as told by Philip Gibson will get a sense of what it was like back in those early days of space exploration....and as a personnel note ...I hope we as well as the rest of the world will continue the quest of exploring space and the planet's...it is important that we as a people explore and learn...so that we can evolve more as a species...man was made to explore space as well as the ocean...we started by exploring the new world when Columbus made his journey....we need to continue to explore so we can to continue to grow as a people..........

This is the third space program novel from this author that I have read. While the others were great, this was the best. We all know the the story of the journey of Apollo 13 , but this author has the talent to place the reader directly into the capsule with the astronauts. I plan on reading all the other novels written by thisAuthor, beginning with the fall of Japan & Germany.

I enjoyed this book. It is written by using today social media framework. Those involved in the Apollo 13 space mission text their thoughts for all to see. The story begins pre-launch and finishes post-splashdown. The actual words are authentic. They were taken from tv, book, newspapers, notes, etc. There are also short bio's of the key people involved in the project. If you like the Apollo 13 story or anything to do with NASA and its space missions you will enjoy this book.

This was a good book. It was a different way to convey the story of what happened. You read exactly what was said between astronauts and mission control.

I am almost through with this book and have been enjoying it very much. I like the way it is not a narrative but more or less blow by blow of what is happening as the mission unfolds. I saw the movie but this book explains so much more. Recommend highly.

What a unique way to provide historical narrative. I wonder if it could be done for some other major events in history. This piece still conveyed the emotional gambit without the filler material.

Great book loved the picture your mind can invision of the trip. The communication between the command station and the ship let you know what really happened

Enjoyed remembering the summer of 1969

Better than the Apollo 11 account. Although a much thinner tome, this book really grips your attention, and like the one for Apollo 8, you really feel as though you are part of the action.Walter Cronkite features quite heavily which is a good thing. The author doesn’t (which is also a good thing!).A great read, but because the book is so thin and exciting, I got through it in no time!Read all three books in the series now, and Apollo 8 and 13 are the best overall, with the moonwalk aspects of 11 the most interesting part of that (much thicker) volume.

Excellent read. Full of excitement. I liked the hashtag format. It brings it to life. I might try other similar books.

I think it is better to read the revised Apollo 13 novel.Good though
