Great for icy conditions
Very sturdy. Husband wore out the screw studs on a 20+ year old pair of these, which were recommended by a relative who worked in Alaska. Purchased these new style Stabilicers and they are as good as the former ones. These will help keep you from falling in icy conditions. These are heavy duty, good in very cold conditions and will add stability when walking on ice. Highly recommend.

Heavy Duty Ice Treads
Originally purchased the ice treads and within 2 days a few of the pegs fell off. Requested a replacement and the second pair has done fine. Heavy duty and actually stay on your shoes when going thru snow. I'm 6'8" and they hold up great. Very punctual on replacement

Great fit up front. Not so much on the back.
Paired these Stabil Maxx 2’s with Trudave size 9 boots. The Stabil’s go on easy. Straps reach well. However there is too much openness on the heel. Can’t think of a way to fix this issue. Thinking the design should be changed to allow the rear heel strap to be tightened. Maybe add a loop where the stitch is. Still have yet to try them on the ice. Overall pleased with this purchase so far.

Does the job.
This is an essential tool for clearing snow off my steep driveway. I never fall when I wear these and they have likely saved me some trips to the emergency room.

Buyer beware: Faulty product, faultier company!
I used these supposed "heavy-duty" cleats no more than a half-dozen times and only for about an hour each time. On the last usage, I could feel the heel of my right foot was loose so I figured the Velcro slipped and I would have to readjust. To my surprise, one of the back straps came completely undone from the rubber sole. It seems the glue or whatever else binds the strap to itself to form a loop was not up to the task of only a *few* hours of use! I also noticed the back loop on the opposite side was half undone so this does not appear to be a fluke - the cleat is just made poorly (see pictures). And to think the product description asserts that it is "built to stand up to hard use"!Well, I figured the company would stand by its product so I contacted them about the issue describing my limited usage and providing pictures of the faulty cleat. They decidedly did not stand by the product. They just gave me a quick one line answer that they only cover the cleats for one year. When I inquired further, they completely ignored me. I bought the shoes in July '22, used them a few times for winter '22-'23 and the issue occurred the first time I brought them out for winter '23-'24. I never would have guessed they could fail after such light use. To make matters worse, the price has gone up 40%! In a year and a half!! Please ask yourself if you should support a company like this. They seem much more interested in profits then caring about their customers.

Third Pair - Solid Product
This is my third pair of Stabilicers. The first two were the regular Maxx 2. I live in Maine - long, cold winters. I just simply wore them out over years of use. The Velcro stays sticky even when wet and frozen. This is my first pair of Maxx 2 - Heavy Duty. I use them for hiking in Acadia Natl Park and using a walk-behind snow blower to clear my 120' asphalt driveway, that has a 10 dg grade. Lots of pressure on the cleats for the snow blowing task. There is a bit of a learning curve to using these strap-on ice cleats. One is to check the tightness of the cleats after hikes, or after about 5 to 6 hours of work or normal wear. This of course will depend on how much stress you are putting on the cleats. If you're hiking or walking on a lot of uneven or angled surfaces, it is important to monitor the tightness. If the cleats become loose, and front to rear, or side to side to side pressure is put on them, they may pull out of the sole and ruin their receiving thread base. It only take a few minutes to check the tightness with a nut-driver, and it will save you from ruining your Stabilicers. Replace the cleats before they are too worn, otherwise you cannot use a nut-driver or screwdriver to get them out. Or worse yet, you start getting down into the rubber when you are walking. That will ruin the receiver. If they are exposed to salt or calcium chloride, it is probably a good idea to rinse that off once every week or two. If you take care of them they will last you for years.I wear size 10 Muck winter boots, and size 9.5-D hiking boots. Size Medium Stabilicer Maxx 2 - Heavy Duty cleats work well on both.

Heel attachment needs a redesign.
Owned previous version and liked them. These are great, except for the heel strap/tab arrangement. They just won't work on some of my boots, particularly those with rounded heels, but not just boots with rounded heels. I haven't been able to come up with a way to modify them so that they would work. The heel strap/tab needs to be redesigned.
