My wife bought this kit for me as a gift,at first i was a bit worried,im not a big fan of bleeding. I opened it and looked at its parts very closely,im a fan of all things metal and chrome.This razor felt right in my hand,heavy,solid and a good grip. I took the razor apart.again very solid and well made.The bowl,what can i say? its chrome and very solid.The brush is very good,its bristles are soft but secured in its handle,so far no shedding.The soap it came with is excelent,Col Conk bay rum,with a little practice i built an amazing lather.i later included a bit of the Col Conk shave cream to the soap in the bowl,the lather was even better. The shave i get with this razor,with a little practice and patience,is second to none,i would recommend persona blades though,but the shave is very very close.The stand is solid and chrome and when its all placed on its own shelf or on a vanity top it looks very classy.I am very pleased with this set.I enjoy the act of shaving again. Do your research and watch a few videos on this type of shaving.

My husband really enjoys this gift that I got him. He says that not only does he enjoy the anesthetics of the product but he also receives the closest shave than with any other razor he's used before.Unfortunately, there were somethings that "I" noticed (being the purchaser of the item) that kept it from 5 stars. What made the product so appealing was all the additions/bonuses - but the one thing that didn't make it into our shaving gift set was the polishing towel. If you own something like this, you can understand why this would be beneficial.Another thing I noticed was the brush handle seemed to be kind of beat up already. It wasn't new looking and didn't have a smooth chrome finish, but nicks & scratches on it instead. ☹

Excellent kit to have. The shave is close and smooth that when combined with everything else I use ( Neutrogena Naturals face wash, Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum, Hydrea London Bamboo Washcloth, Filorga Paris Optimum Eyes, and Facial Fuel SPF 15 Moisturizer) Women love touching my face. Kinda weird but they love the smoothness. I'm talking super smooth and beyond soft.Forget the hyped 125 blade disposables that cost $80. Invest in this and save while impressing the ladies.Use the saved cash to treat the women while having them wanting to get close because there is no prickly stubble remaining. Refill blades are a couple bucks, the soap isn't much more and lasts a real long time.Just take the time to do a beard growth map. The learn how to use this the right way (YouTube) and be ready to rock some style.

I bought this shaving kit because I wanted to upgrade my safety razor kit. I've been using a safety razor for about a year and I love it. When I opened my shaving kit I the first item I pulled out was the badger brush. I should have realized something was wrong when i saw dander go flying as I tested the bristles with my fingers. But being the ignoramus I am I thought nothing of it and set the kit aside until shaving time. When I went to use the lather for the first time I wetted the brush and swirled it on the soap that came in the kit. I then applied the lather to my face and immediately learned what wet badger smells like. Imagine wet dog but gamier, then imagine that all over your face. Did the badger that died for this brush die yesterday? Is it too much to give the badger hair a wash before turning it into a brush and letting people rub it on their face? Or at least provide a note instructing to wash the brush before use. And to top it off there were bristles falling out of the brush after the first use. It was an unpleasant experience for sure. Two stars because despite the awful experience the razor is actually of good quality as is the stand.

I got this as a gift for my husband. The soap smells nice and the kit is nice and shiny and of good quality. However, like some other reviewers, the brush fell apart (out of the handle) after the first use. Upon contacting the seller they quickly offered up a solution that was fair. Besides the little bit of upset, still a great kit. I'm glad though that it was a gift for my husband and not someone else because I'd have hated to have the brush fall apart so soon on someone else who wouldn't have told me...

Good basic set to get started with wet shaving. I personally prefer a different soap, but this one is comparable to most other basic soaps. The bowl is also fine but just a basic bowl. I would recommend for anyone trying wet shaving. Decent value for the product. As you get more into it you should work your way up to a more high end, heavier, more balanced instrument. Also with shaving soaps and creams you kind of get what you pay for so splurge on some high quality stuff when you get there. Overall this is a good stater set

Pros:The handle is really high quality, non-slip, and comfortable to hold (balanced). The stand is nice. The set looks nice for the price.Cons:The Gillette replaceable blades are poor quality and it tends to crack. The head of the razor bends the razor too much. The blade doesn't sit even in the head. The chrome on the head of the razor is very poor quality and has pin holes in the chrome finish. The soap is terrible. The brush has to be soaked for half an hour - doesn't smell good.If you're not really picky, and you're not going to stare to closely at it to see all the cosmetic imperfections off the chrome finish, then this set is good for the price that you pay. It's cheap but next time I will definitely pay more for better quality because I'll have it for a very long time.
