Great grill
So much better than the Char-Broil infrared we replaced with the Huntington 30040. It heats in 2-3 minutes, so uses less propane and grills to perfection. We wanted a cast aluminum grill, but didn't want to pay high dollar. Looks are very basic, but the performance is great. The porcelain grates need to be cleaned cold with a vinegar and water mixture and a plastic brush. It's a small grill surface in comparison to many grills, but certainly adequate. Definitely glad we took a chance on this grill. It took a couple of hours to assemble. Just work at a leisurely pace and it will come together fine.

Impossible to assemble, parts in box are not created for screw assembly.
The legs going to the platforms on either side of the unit have two mounting holes. One of the holes is a self threading hole and the other hole is not. The hole that is not threaded is at the end of the mount leg and the diagram shows putting a screw in to mount the leg at that hole. The screw just sticks through the hole. There are no nuts to use on the inside of the leg and the platform the leg mounts to has an end already affixed to it that makes trying to put a nut in the leg to insert the screw into not possible. This is a total piece of crap, one which the company that made this, has never assembled one of their units! We have one of these branded units we are replacing. This unit has flimsy legs, is not built as well, but is named the same. WTF!!!!!!It is a lot of work to get to this point and real bitch to repack this thing. Contemplating redesigning, repairing and trying to make it work because that is about the same amount of work as repacking. This sucks!!!! Do not buy one of these!!!!!

price, side burner, & cast body make it attractive, assembly needs improvement but service was good
We live in a part of the world that lets us grill almost every day and it's nice to have that option when it gets hot. We prefer to have a cast unit because they do tend to last longer if you are prepared to replace the burner, the grills, and the deflectors, which will definitely have to be done. Assembly was mostly straightforward, with only one frame part needing a bit of persuasion. However, the smaller parts, most notably the two extremely thing washer/nuts that hold the logo on (and you'll want to put it on because otherwise, you have a pair of smoke releasing holes in your face) are neither described well in the instructions, nor is the picture very useful, nor are they at all sturdy or easy to put on the piece. As well, the clip that is supposed to hold the tube onto the side burner is basically just a suggestion. There is absolutely no way it fits. You are on your own for that one. Once you do get it assembled, the main and side burners heat up very quickly, it cooks evenly so far, and it is very economical on gas. However, the service department was very good and sent replacements right away for the defective and/or damaged parts. What did surprise us, though, was the speed with which the coating came off and started to peel. We bought the barbecue in Sept and by Dec. it had a spot that was peeling as the pictures show. Likewise the inside started to show pitting and the grills were looking like they might last another 3 months before needing replacement.

Great product at a fair price, and it's made in America.
I got my Huntington 30040HNT grill on Amazon and it shipped for free with Prime - great deal. Assembly was fairly straightforward, about as challenging as assembling a simple piece of boxed kit furniture such as a TV stand. The whole operation was complete with an hour or two and didn't require much in the way of tools. I have been using it frequently over the past months and am quite pleased with the product. The heavy duty porcelain-coated aluminum grill body retains heat quite well. This grill will likely last a long time if it isn't intentionally abused. The side burner works well for heating soups, sauces, or otherwise cooking food in a saucepan. It's also made in the United States from North American parts. If you are looking for a reasonably priced propane grill which does the job, will last a long time, and is made in the USA this is probably your best option.

Every piece is bent
We got this on June 29th. The box was undamaged and everything was sealed tight. However when he opened the package everything was bent. He thinks maybe this was a return and the last person bent it trying to put it together. It’s almost July 4th and we needed the grill so we are keeping it. But every single piece of this grill is bent. My husband is a mechanic and can fix about anything thankfully because no way could I have put it together with all the bent metal. He has bent most of it back the best he could. But it’s a shame that they would send a barbecue grill in this condition. We don’t have time to get a new one so this will have to do. But I would not recommend this grill just based on my experience. We haven’t tried it yet but I’m guessing it will work ok besides being wobbly and bent and also rattling when anyone walks by 😆 oh well live and learn. I’ll update my review if anything changes.

A grill that hits way above its weight class!
Should I say first that the grill is produced in Tennessee (although now owned by a Canadian company, Onward) while others seem to all have the friendly, "Made in China" labels. Sorry CCP, I'd rather buy an American product. The Huntington 30040 HNT may not win any beauty contests as it has no side or back panels, is relatively small and has a cast aluminum hood / base. But, this little unit really shines when it comes to cooking efficiently. Chicken, hamburgers and a thick sirloin steak were all done nicely due to the highly efficient heating system rated at 30,000 BTUs with a side burner reaching 10,000 BTUs. In fact, I had to set the heat at one-third for the steak so a lot of back-up for larger meals exists. Cleanup is easy as the fat, etc. is burned off and falls to the bottom where it can be easily removed. They Huntington tech shop has representatives who are friendly, knowledgeable, speak English and quickly replaced two small missing nuts. My only negative is putting the grill together. Be sure to use the listed video and have an electric drill / driver ready as several of the screw holes needed a slight bit of widening and the extra power needed to properly seat the various screws. But overall, this little grill replaced a much larger and more expensive setup and is doing a much better job! Buy It!
