AC/DC AMERICAN re-issues, not Aussie. STILL WORTH IT!
There seems to be some confusion withthis box set from (2002) as opposed tothe discontinued one from several yearsback. Fortunately for me I snagged itfor $169 brand new, not $400. Anyway, this is the US version and doesn't havethe original Aussie "High Voltage","TNT",double live CD (this is the single 14track version), and, "Still Upper Lip" isonly one CD, not the double. Before I list the CDs I'll tell you whatit DOES have. All CDs are remastered forimproved sound performance. Each CDcomes with a mini-booklet thathas tons of photos and documents whatthe band was doing at that particulartime. Think of it as a chronologicalcompanion to go with all your CDsotherwise not released. Some of theartwork is slightly different, andALL of the tray liners where the CDsits have great live pictures of theband when you take out the CD. Verynice touch! The CDs are as follows.Jailbreak '74 (actually released in '84)High Voltage (US Version)Dirty Deeds Done Dirt CheapLet There Be RockPowerageIf You Wnat Blood You've Got ItHighway To HellBack In BlackFor Those About To Rock We Salute YouFlick Of The SwitchFly On The WallWho Made WhoBlow Up Your VideoRazor's EdgeAC/DC LiveBallbreakerStiff Upper LipSome may be dissapointed, but if you'rethe type of person that wants theentire American collection with theexception of "Black Ice", just theway you remember it on vinyl, this isfor you! Also, great for first timersthat want a comprehensive collectionof their music, Also, the box is notas big as expected. It's about7"(w)x5.5"(h) and has a coollook with the AC/DC logo in volcaniccolors on a black box. For those thatdon't want to pay $300-400, be patientand you can find it in the Amazonmarketplace for under $200.

Great buy!
This was a birthday present for my boyfriend and He loved it. It shipped from China and the unfortunately, one corner of the black acdc box looked like it. Luckily, my boyfriend was more interested in the cds than the box they sit in. Otherwise it was a great buy.

Rock on!
I bought this as a gift for an avid AC/DC fan. It's a great buy! We listened to the entire box on our way to Vegas for the concert! It was amazing. Don't bother thinking you can buy each CD individually at a cheaper price...I calculated that and it's not worth it. Amazon is the cheapest place to find this and you'll have every CD all in a convenient box.

If u love AC DC get the box set
I have been a diehard AC/DC fan for years. My oldest brother introduced me to AC/DC when I was a kid he was born in 1971. I have two little boys and they love AC/DC as much as I do. Our favorite is the Bon Scott era of ACDC we like Brian Johnson to.

Not a real box set, BEWARE!!
Not a real box set, This set came with 3 CDs of AC/DC Live, (same songs). A real box set would not have 3 copies of the same CD. That being said, a lot of good AC/DC music.

AC/DC, we salute you
I've been a long time admirer of AC/DC, but never actually got round to buying any of their albums; I always hoped that one day they would put out an intelligently compiled `Best Of...' collection, but after reading an interview with the band where they categorically stated that they would never release such an item as they regard them as a rip-off, i.e. making fans buy the same material twice, I had to have a rethink. This box set provided the answer - the first fifteen AC/DC albums in a complete package, and on vinyl!!There's been a lot of confusion over this set so in a Lloyd Grossman* stylee, let's take a closer look. The box itself is a sturdy construction, covered in a leather type material, with the AC/DC logo embossed on the front in silver. On the back is a list of all fifteen albums. The set also comes with a 12"X12" insert displaying all the albums with a full track listing, useful if you're looking for one particular song. Each album features its original sleeve artwork, with `For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)' retaining it's gatefold sleeve. The inner sleeves are all new, and in full colour except obviously `Back In Black' which is in monochrome. They feature lengthy and detailed notes about each individual album and the state of play in the band at the time of recording. The overall design on each is a collage of photos, press cuttings and memorabilia such as ticket stubs, posters and record sleeves from across the world. A slight grumble is that the inner sleeves are all made from thin paper, and a few had splits along the bottom due to the weight of the vinyl, but these are easily repaired with some sticky tape! The records themselves are pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl, therefore heavier than the average pressing, with exclusive label designs, and the sound, which is really fantastic, has been completely remastered for the ultimate AC/DC experience. The entire box is factory sealed in cellophane, and each album is also sealed for added protection. So to the albums. This collection features all of AC/DC's albums that were originally released on the Atlantic label between 1976 - 1992.Here's a quick guide to each in the order they appear in the box.1. '74 Jailbreak. The bands first internationally released album, `High Voltage' (1976) was compiled from two earlier Australia-only albums, `High Voltage' (1975) and `T.N.T.' (1975). This five track mini album, firstly issued in 1984 pulls together the four tracks from the original `High Voltage' album that failed to make it's namesake plus the early single only `Jailbreak'.2. High Voltage. The 1976 international version featuring all but one track from `T.N.T.', and two from `High Voltage'. A bona fide classic set displaying the bands blues rock roots, and features many early live favourites. At this point in their career they remind me of a harder heavier version of British R&B stalwarts Dr. Feelgood. Their vocalist, the late Lee Brilleaux had a similar approach to Bon Scott.3. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. The only AC/DC album not to feature any member of the band on it's sleeve, but don't let that put you off. It's another mighty fine set, with gems like the hilarious "Big Balls", "The Rocker" and the title track.4. Let There Be Rock. It's the one with "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", and the wonderful title song; Bon Scott's own unique take on the story of rock `n' roll. Another must-have collection.5. Power Age.A slight disappointment following the genius of its three predecessors. Nevertheless worth it for "Rock `n' Roll Damnation" and "Riff Raff".6. If You Want Blood. For many this is the ultimate AC/DC album. Recorded live on the bands 1978 world tour, mostly at the Glasgow Apollo, where all rock bands are assured of a great welcome. It contains the definitive versions of "Whole Lotto Rosie", "The Jack" plus a whole load more. Bon Scott is in absolutely top form throughout.7. Highway To Hell.Another magnificent set, but of course tinged with sadness as it was the last to feature Bon Scott. He died in February 1980 following a night of heavy drinking.8. Back In Black.Just five months after the death of Bon Scott, AC/DC returned with what was to be their biggest selling album ever. Replacing Scott with UK vocalist Brian Johnson, formerly with Geordie, `Back In Black' was not only a magnificent tribute to Bon, but also testament to a band who proved that they were strong enough to survive.9. For Those About To Rock We Salute You.Proving that bringing in Brian Johnson was no fluke, "For Those..." gave AC/DC another bona fide classic, with the title song featuring the best use of cannon fire in music since Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.10. Flick Of The Switch. Some misguided types claim that this is where the rot set in. Wrong. This is a great sold rock album, and remains much underrated.11. Fly On The Wall.Or Fly in the Ointment. This is the one stinker in the pack. Produced by Angus and Malcolm Young, it is a messy collection, with Brian Johnson's vocal too far back in the mix, and little in the way of memorable songs or even a good guitar riff. Shame.12. Who Made Who.The soundtrack to the Steven King directed movie `Maximum Overdrive', this was a mix of old and new; the closest AC/DC have ever come to a compilation. It features two cuts from `Fly On The Wall', which sound better here than on their parent album, plus material from `Back In Black', `For Those About To Rock', and `Dirty Deeds' plus two new instrumentals and a new song in the title track.13. Blow Up Your Video.A real return to top form! Great sleeve (Angus Young bursting through a TV set; AC/DC's take on pop's obsession with promo videos), and songs to die for including "Heatseeker", "That's The Way I Wanna Rock `n' Roll" and "Ruff Stuff".14. The Razors Edge. And the quality continues to rise. "Thunderstruck" gave the band their biggest ever UK hit single, reaching no. 13. I can remember it being played on daytime radio. In 1990 that was unheard of!15. AC/DC Live.A two-hour live extravaganza recorded on the bands massive 1990/91 world tour. I recently posted a review about this album after listening to it on CD. I stand by my main complaint that due to a policy of having every track separate; i.e. there is silence between each song; the album simply fails to ignite the excitement of an AC/DC concert. However the remark that Brian Johnson cannot sing is utterly wrong, I guess I was just feeling so disappointed in this album. Sorry. Overall, however it does come across better on the vinyl, so...So there you have it. Fifteen albums from a band that have been adored and damned in equal measure over the past 30 years. It is an expensive set, but checking the cost of each album separately means that you are saving around £100 by buying them all in this set, and quite honestly if you are down to your last £166, I can not think of a better way to spend it!*Ask your parents.

AC/DC All In One.
I decided to get the whole box set of cd's and I do not regret it one bit. Nice to get some music of the band you like all in one go, I liked this band for ages but never had none of their stuff. Anyhow to the product itself. The box obviously contains 17 cd's comes in a glossy black box with the AC/DC logo on both sides with the cd's tightly packed in, I think they should have made it a couple of mm longer just to have made a bit more room for ease of retracting the cd's, the box looks big on Amazon but is small physically compared to the picture and there is no booklet, history or biography of the band, that I believe would have been a nice touch to have a booklet. The box set is a no frills affair and basically the music here stands up for it's self and I personally like it. I suppose also it does sound expensive but also remember there are 17 cd's in here, it's not your average 3 - 4 cd box set. Altogether not bad value.P.s I paid £129.00 at the time of sale on amazon, now as of 2013 its shot up somewhat.

la totale!
Excellent. Ca donne l'impression d'avoir quelque chose d'unique.

Firstly, I paid $167.00 CDN. from Resell Tag, while other vendors are selling this box set around the $400.00 range. Why would you buy it at that high price when it is available for less than half. The CD's are all in individual jewel cases with the original liner notes and artwork and were digitally remastered in 2002, so they sound great. Anyone who likes AC/DC can confirm that there isn't a bad track in this collection. They all rock and get your toe a tappin'.
