GREAT END TO THE YEAR.
So,after a very odd year with some very big ups and some almighty downs, can the the wwe give a good closure to the year? In short, yes. An unusual start with the final of a mixed tag tournament. Who would have thought a tag tourny would end with R-TRUTH and CARMELLA vs JINDER MAHAL and ALICIA FOX? Well it is what it is and thought not great it's a bit of fun and the after match of this tourny which sees the winner get an all expenses paid trip to wherever they like is quite funny.USOs vs THE BAR vs NEW DAY in a title match is fine with some good moments just not anything great, leaving me a bit disappointed. The first TLC match as an injured BRAUN STROWMAN must turn up to fight BARON CORBIN or Corbin wins automaticly. What can i say? Braun turns up says he will have a bit of help as he cannot wrestle and cannot be disqualified in a tlc match. So it is i suppose meant to be a bit of fun but for me was a waste of time.NATALYA takes on her enemy RUBY RIOTT in a tables match. Not a brilliant match perhaps but i actually enjoyed it and it far surpassed what i expected. Some nice crashing moments that must have hurt and a good end so i give it the thumbs up.FINN BALOR vs DREW MCINTYRE is a good enough match and at least shows both men can deliver the goods, the action is fine with a result i did not expect,so fair enough,it was alright.REY MYSTERIO has a surprisingly good chairs match with RANDY ORTON. Some really nice moments here,i loved the surf chair move Rey did and the end though a bit unusual is pretty cool.RONDA ROUSEY vs NIA JAX for the title Ronda is not letting go off any time soon. Nia plays the jeering crowd and Ronda is back to being quite popular after the weird reception she got last time. Not brilliant you could argue but it is pretty cool at times with some great power moves going on and tells a good enough story,i enjoyed it and though not Ronda at her best, she was still great.AJ STYLES vs champion DANIEL BRYAN in a very good match that shows both do have a great deal of talent. It isn't a match with loads of action but it is a very impressive wrestling match with an interesting end.SETH ROLLINS vs the now bad DEAN AMBROSE is fine i guess but somehow does not justify the feud and badly handled turn of Amborse. The match just never really gets going for me. A plodding match that may have some ok moments but really should have been a ladder match,a wasted oportunity that did neither man any good. The end of this title match was an interesting one but for most of it,the crowd was clearly bored, which editing might mess with.BECKY LYNCH defends her belt against smug CHARLOTTE and ASUKA in a match well worthy of main event status. The action is thick and fast in this TLC match. Some brilliant moments in here which saves a show that built up then collapsed far too much. A match that really should be seen and appreciated for the talent all 3 display. The end was fine with me and though some did not like it and would say it made no sense,to me it made perfect sense,it was a moment that came at the right time and was in my view justified. So really impressive end to a muddled show, but sure the off moments are a downer.

Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2018
This DVD contains the full 2018 Tables, Ladders and Chairs match spread over two discs. It also contains two matches from the pre-show along with a bonus match from Smackdown Live.Buddy Murphy vs. Cedric Alexander - This was the first pre-show match and it was for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. I don't watch watch 205 Live so I always go into these Cruiserweight matches not really caring. They soon pulled me in though with some really good, fast paced, back and forth action. The moves were impressive, the action exciting and the finish was decisive. There were some good near-falls and reversals and the match overall was very good.Elias vs. Bobby Lashley - This was a Ladder match with Elias' guitar hung above the ring. It wasn't that good. Lashley is just boring and Elias needs a great opponent to have a good match. The action was fine for who was in the ring but there was no reason for this to be a Ladder match. There weren't any high-spots or entertaining uses for the ladders. Thankfully it didn't last that long.R-Truth and Carmella vs. Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox - The main show began with the finals of the 2018 Mixed Match Challenge. I really wasn't looking forward to watching this when it was first announced but I ended up really enjoying this match. It wasn't anything spectacular but it was fun regardless. Alicia Fox had some pretty sloppy moments, it's awkward watching how bad she is in the ring when she's been there for over a decade. The match didn't take up too much time and it was surprisingly enjoyable. The Bar vs. The Usos vs. The New Day(Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) - This Triple Threat tag team match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. It was a really good match, it would have been impossible for it not to have been with Smackdown's three best teams. The action was non-stop and entertaining from the very start. There were some good, convincing near-falls and last minute break-ups and a strong, satisfying finish.Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin - This was a Tables Ladders and Chairs match. If Strowman won he would get a shot at the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble and Corbin would be out of power, if Corbin won he would become full time general manager of RAW. It was more of an angle than a match really as Strowman had injured his elbow so couldn't fight. It featured a load of people that Corbin had crossed as general manager helping out Strowman. While it wasn't a good match it was entertaining enough that I didn't mind it being part of the show.Natalya vs. Ruby Riott - This was a Tables match. It was a better match than I was expected. The other members of the Riott Squad gave us some extra table spots to keep things more interesting. I think the Riott Squad should have looked stronger than they did and I don't agree with the result but it was a pretty entertaining match with a strong finish.Drew McIntyre vs. Finn Balor - This was a very good, enjoyable match. Drew had control for the majority of the match, taking advantage of his size and power advantage. Finn was resilient and used his speed to avoid Drew's attacks and keep the match competitive. There was some outside involvement but it really didn't hurt the match as it didn't last long. The finish wasn't 100% clean but it was still good and decisive enough. It was another really good match.Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio - This was a Chairs match, an unfortunate stipulation to be given as the matches are rarely that good. This was definitely one of the better ones though. The uses of the chairs were simple but innovative. These two have good chemistry together so the action was always entertaining. I thought the finish could have been a bit better but it was still a decent result to a pretty good fight.Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax - This was for the RAW Women's Championship. It was a very good match. Nia controlled the action with her power and size advantage while Ronda tried to survive the attack and use her superior skill to keep the match competitive. I felt it was given just the right amount of time and had a good, strong finish.Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles - This was a WWE Championship match and it was great. It was a match full of fantastic back and forth wrestling as you'd expect from these two. Daniel focused on AJ's ribs throughout the match and AJ tried to weaken Bryan's leg to set up for the calf crusher. There was some really good dramatic submission attempts, especially towards the finish and the finish was good too. It gave us a clear winner while leaving the door open for another rematch.Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose - Seth's Intercontinental Championship was on the line here. As always with these two they had a great match. It may have been the wrong match though. They were involved in a heated rivalry and so maybe should have had a match more suited to that than a normal wrestling match. The actual action of the match though is really good with a good pace and lots of reversals. They had the right amount of storytelling combined with their in-ring wrestling and had a strong and decisive finish. It was a really entertaining fight.Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka - This was the main event of the evening and was a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match for the Smackdown Women's Championship. It was a really great match. All three women took and dished out a load of punishment. They had some high-spots but they never felt too contrived. They made good use of all three weapons as well as a kendo stick they introduced. The finish worked to continue a story as Ronda Rousey got involved, but it wasn't ideal that the winner of the match didn't cause the finish directly. She soon proved she was a great champion though so it didn't hurt her that much so I don't really have any problems with this match. It was all great.Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka - This was a bonus match that took place on Smackdown Live. It was a very good match, Not better than their Wrestlemania fight but still a really entertaining, back and forth wrestling match. The finish was disappointing and I would have loved to have seen this great match end properly but as a bonus feature I can't complain too much. It was great with the exception of the finish.Overall this is a very strong event. The first half of the show is pretty entertaining and easy to watch. The second half is great and turns this into one of the best events of the year. All the big matches delivered and with the exception of one match on the pre-show there wasn't a bad match on the card. It was a really enjoyable night of wrestling.
