Finally reasonably priced protective shorts that padded my tailbone.
Finally snowboard padded shorts that protect your tailbone.I’ve tried some of these before and they usually didn’t cover the tailbone fully. After having back surgery I needed to reduce the direct impact of falls on my spine. These fit well over my base layer. The pads are comfortable and thick enough to dampen a hit. They could add a more dense or even plastic shield to the outside to disperse the impact more. The shorts have enough stretch to make a good fit. They look a little bulky under my boarding pants. I took the thigh pads out to allow for the best fit under my shorts and pad the area I am most worried about.

Good quality
Comfortable. Good fit. I’m a thick girl and medium fit great. Had originally bought a large but too big. I wear them when I go skating!

Great impact protection, minor flaws
I decided to get back into inline skating after a 20 year hiatus, and got these to keep from breaking a hip. I have 3nded up on the ground more times than I can count qnd haven't had so much as a bruise, and I bruise if you breathe too hard in my direction.I'm 5'9 210# and the large fits snug but well. The material has quite a bit of give so they don't restrict motion, but provide a mild compression and are still breathable if a little sheer.Just do yourself a favor and dont wear these on the outside, because the material is very delicate on rough surfaces, the butt is all scraped up not from falling, but from sitting on my concrete porch to put my skates on.I wanted to wait til after their first washing to leave a review to see how they held up, because I'm not hand-washing anything, and a lot of you probably arent either. I threw them on a warm/warm cycle with the rest of my stinky workout clothes and a low delicate tumble dry, and they washed up perfect.Just keep in mind that removing the high density pads through holes the size of a quarter is a CHALLENGE. I recommend labeling as you remove so they go back in the right spots. It took me 17 minutes to get them reassembled, but they seem to be good as new now.Overall have some minor flaws for my use but I would recommend and I would buy them again!

Offered adequate cushion from my fall
It definitely gave adequate protection when I fell. I like that it’s not restricting and not expensive.

Essential impact protection that saves your tailbone on hardpack and icy rails!
For anyone pushing their limits on the slopes or at the skatepark, an unexpected hard landing on an icy sheet or a metal rail can instantly cut a great season short. The Bodyprox Protective Padded Shorts act as an exceptional, highly reliable insurance policy for your lower chassis. They provide high-tier collision defense by placing dense, shock-absorbing EVA foam cushions precisely over your most vulnerable zones: the tailbone, hips, thighs, and sit bones. The true highlight of this protective armor is its specialized 3D ergonomic segmentation. Instead of using a single, rigid sheet of plastic that restricts your movement, Bodyprox uses decoupled foam panels that flex, twist, and bend seamlessly alongside your body's natural mechanics. This architecture is especially valuable for snowboarders and skiers who need to crouch deeply or rotate through tight turns without feeling restricted. The underlying chassis is crafted from a premium Nylon-Spandex blend packed with mesh inserts, ensuring that body heat and sweat escape rapidly. This eliminates the heavy, swampy dampness typical of cheaper safety gear, keeping your core dry and warm from first lift to last chair.

Good product.
It's seems it will last a long time. The only problem I see it's that there is padding on the butt that goes directly to you middle. This is uncomfortable when you fall down. I think it would make more sense to have the 2 padding on each butt cheek and not just 1 in the middle.

Hips and tailbone are protected, comfy, light, slim fitting.
These are new tech to me, as I quit skateboarding 25-30 years ago. Picked back up at 50. In addition to the rest of normal pads, this a great addition, under cargos.I can't tell you how many people have told me a hip stinger or some tailbone slam put them out for good. These fit, they stay... they're very light and you'll forget about them while skating. Obviously meant for older skaters, and probably all Snowboarders if I had to guess, since they bail that way, kind of like Kneepads for skaters. Safe bail. The padding is very compact. it absorbs but doesn't move much.Hips are protected.Tailbone is protected, (and softer butt landings) all welcome to my 50 year old self. You can't even see them under cargos.NORMALIZE WEARING PADSYOUR BRAIN IS YOU. Wear a helmet, no excuses. If you are older, I'd def suggest these as well. TOTAL no brainer if you snowboard. 100%.

Work very well
I crashed a couple of times on big dry gravely berms on Pseudo Tsuga last week and these shorts protected my thighs and hips so that my only injury was to my ego. These definitely did their job.

Perfect sizing
Thick padding, so your pants will be tight. For the price, it’s worth it.

Super protection for snowboarding
As a beginner snowboarder I highly recommend wearing the protective gear and these padded shorts are awesome. They are comfortable and protect your butt, hips and most importantly your sacrum from falls. After a full day of falling on my butt, I was still able to walk and snowboard again the next day. They also keep you warm, you can sit on the snow in them. Be aware that they are thick, and you may need to go up a size in pants to get your pants over them but this is a well worthwhile problem, when beginning this sport protection is the top priority!
