Portable Left Foot Accelerator Pedal - Made in The USA - Not Bolted to Car or Truck - US Veteran Owner

Ok, where to start. I had right-foot surgery and have not been able to do anything on my own for weeks. I have to stay off my right foot for another one-to-two months. But, my PLFA arrived this afternoon. And, it went straight from the box to my 2017 Nissan Titan's floorboard. Fit perfectly and snugly to the carpet. I only had to sweep the dirt and rocks to one side. Zero adjustments. And, I was on the road again! Remember that feeling of being 16 and heading out of the driveway with your home in the rearview mirror? Yeah, it felt like that. So, Becky and Mike, I see from the literature that you two are responsible for the design and for making this available to others. Thank you so very much! I can't express to you, enough, how very grateful I am! You should have called this the Liberator, though, because that is what it does for people who need to drive! The operation and precision of this device is incredibly smooth, and, yet, it is so rugged, like it was built for a tank. What an amazing and brilliant device. Was it hard to get used to? Not at all. But, I do leave myself a little extra room between vehicles just in case. Would I buy this again? Without question. Yes!

The left foot drive device gave me freedom. It fits tightly in my Ford Explorer, but it fits. The product is well made and sturdy. Easy to install with minor adjustments. It is easily removed when someone else drives. It is heavy and does not move however we lined the location where it sits with duct tape to be sure it is placed back properly after it has been taken out. It is heavy. It does not move when driving, a major consideration. It takes a bit of practice to get used to using the left foot to brake and gas but I am now able to get to Drs. appointments, do minor chores, and simply take a drive without having to inconvenience friends. Just knowing that I can get in the car and drive away is freedom of mind.Update 29 Sept 2023: Because of drop foot in my right foot, I continue to use the left foot drive device. Initially I only drove when necessary but after months of driving in which my brain has been able to shift the muscle memory from right to left, I don't hesitate to climb into the car and go. The device is well made and has not failed in any way. I highly recommend it.

It changed my life! I have a right leg amputation, Now I can drive with my left foot. Also, did not have to spend thousands to equip my new SUV with ugly hand controls and permanent hardware to make it ugly and hard to share with my wife. I had to take an approved driver rehab class to get my license back. I needed to get signed off on the left sided accelerator and take the state road test with it. Perfect in every aspect. Just a bit to light. I used gorilla tape to secure it in place on a plush floor mat, now I just have to pull it out on the mat, and it goes back in place lined up every time. Makes it very easy to swap out with my wife driving. It took about 3 minutes to install. About 10 to 15 minutes to get it lined up properly. Thank you to the Vet who sells and manufactures them. Side note: if your vehicle has the stops in place to secure floor mats, you have to remove them. They wont allow the base to sit flat. Also if you have memory features on the pedals and seats, you will have to make sure that the other drivers setting does not force the accelerator to get pushed down. Just remember to hit your memory button before you throw it in.

1. Both pedals are on the same plane making the left pedal at an uncomfortable angle.2. The distance between both pedals also must be considered; not just the 11" for the plate to fit.3. The welded piece that holds the rod is not the same as pictured. May or may not be as strong.The product seems very nice and sturdy but seems could have been designed for a particular vehicle without taking all the differences into account to be used in other vehicles. I'm not upset with the purchase, more disappointed it didn't work as well as my 30 year old one.

What an excellent product!! I lost my right leg recently (above the knee amputation). I'm to the point now where I can get out independently and I was not really looking forward to driving with my left foot on the standard accelerator pedal location. I found this product while searching similar items. This one stood out from the crowd because it is a single unit and can be easily transferred from one vehicle to another.I received the unit within just a few days of ordering. I was immediately impressed with the weight (15 lbs) of the unit and the quality of materials that went into it. This is a serious piece of equipment. the instructions were straightforward and installation was so simple a caveman could do it :)I installed this in my F250 pickup and I did not have to a single adjustment. I just slid it into place, checked to make sure it fit and off I went. Driving with this is a no-brainer. In fact, the driving part of my brain picked it up in a nanosecond. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this setup and the independence it has provided. I applaud the developers of this unit and as an added bonus, it's made in the USA and veteran owned. I am actually able to drive again after a right lower leg amputation! It works great! Funny thing, it was like learning to drive all over again. Get one of you need it!

A little back story! I had my spine compressed and I ended up having tons of nerve damage on my right leg which caused me to lose sensation on my entire right foot. I had already come to terms with the fact that I wouldn’t be driving anymore and it had been 2 years since I got behind the wheel of a car! My husband bought this for me as a surprise and let me tell you THIS HAS GIVING ME MY FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE BACK! It’s super easy to install, it’s very sturdy and feels great! The first day it was definitely scary remembering where the pedals were. The next day I had a bit more confidence and hardly second guessed the pedal placement. THE THIRD DAY I DROVE ON THE STREET FOR 3 HOURS! I love this thing! The best part is that it’s portable!
