Dekoni Audio EPZ-HD700-HYB Replacement Sennheiser HD700 Hybrid Earpads

Bought this and a set of balanced 2.5 Trrs balanced cables to go with my HD700's and Fiio Q1 MkII.I would make this a required upgrade for your headphones. I do have low tone defecit so originally the headphones were very high, I could resolve low frequency but it took effort while the highs were a bit too distinct. Now (after a pain in the ass install that requires patience like the oem earpads) the low end is more distinct and the highs are more regulated allowing for a more flat listening experience despite my hearing disability. (And yet I still play violin damn well)The cups are much thicker than the originals and will sit differently on your head, but I recommend squeezing the headphones against your head to compress the pads and they will sit much more comfortably. The pads are a bit heavier too so the whole assembly will increase in mass.More importantly, with the Fiio Q1's bass boost option and/or using software, these can turn into an extremely high end version of Beats but where the bass is never muddled out and sounds so clean. I love listening with these headphones now, every genre sounds great now with these pads.Tl;Dr: Pads add bass, control highs, makes more even sound stage. Thick pad makes a bit unruly but compressing cup against head fixes it. Great upgrade and better value than Sennheiser originals. Pain to install, but so are the originals.P.s. make sure to clean your headphones before putting everything back, it will be the only time you want to. You'll be listening to too much music.

I received the hybrid pads and I will say they are extrembly comfortable. I'd give these a 5 out of 5 if it wasn't for the impossible installation. I ended up using the clips that were already part of my HD 700s and they worked well enough attaching the replacement pads. There is no reason for these to have their own clips when they could have just modifed the pads to fit into what's already there. The molding also looks very rough and when I tried following the instructions initally it was not an even fit. All in all the pads are great but the installation is terrible.

These are not just ordinary replacement pads, these are game changers. They are Uber comfortable, compliant and focus the energy of drivers in the headphones into your ears. They still are open back and have that open back sound, but it is more focused and you don’t lose the intimacy that the standard earcups did. Because the gel inside fits the head better and conforms to the variations of your head contours, your experience is improved greatly. The inner portion of these earcups channels the sound to your ears instead of losing it through the lack of compliance the originals suffer from. These things combine to make your headphone experience one of joyous bliss in my opinion. Since I have had original earcup replacements before, the change isn’t subtle or is it lacking, far from it! I will buy these again if they wear out as these are the best replacement upgrade earcups you can by for this headphone. Hesitation is a waste in your music enjoyment experience.
