This album was released in 1981, right on the heels of the great "Guilty", though only one song from that album is on here, "The Love Inside". Look to her 1989 A COLLECTION...GREATEST HITS AND MORE for songs from that album.This collection starts out with the best song, "Memory" from CATS. Barbra sings this with breath-taking purity and emotion while an orchestra plays in the background. Definitely the best song on here."You Don't Bring Me Flowers", the first of four number one hits featured on here, still stirs the soul after 23 years out and Neil Diamond and Barbara blend together so well. "My Heart Belongs To Me", "Lost Inside Of You" and the beautiful "Evergreen", still impress the ears. "New York State Of Mind" and "No More Tears" are OK, not the best.The two final tracks are tied with "Memory" as the best songs on the album. "The Love Inside" never ceases to send chills down the spine with it's aria-like feel and Barbara's soulful vocals. "The Way We Were", though grossly overplayed, is still a gorgeous song, filled with longing and reflection.
