We have a parakeet with a misshapen foot and wanted to provide him with something besides a perch so he could rest better. He can sit on a perch but he loves this platform! We placed his treat stick in the middle of it and he seems so happy sitting there pecking away at his treat. It is well made, very smooth, and looks very nice. It was very easy to attach to the cage. I am so pleased with this. It is well priced and I would absolutely buy it again.

Very good my bird loves it.

This is wide enough for my doves, but the platform is thin and came with only two washers. I had to buy a couple more to be able to attach it to their cage. The 2 washers would only work if a cage has very closely spaced bars.

The stand itself is well-made and easy to assemble. The wood is smooth and a good size. It is NOT for an aggressive chewer. Through no fault of the product, my cockatoo made quick work of the stand shredding it in less than two days. He loved it! I should have known better...lol! If your bird/animal is not a big chewer, the stand should work out well.

Writing this review using my husbands account. I got my bird because he looked sad when I first saw him. And I wanted to give him a chance. But he's weak, despite having a mighty apetite. I noticed he would rest on the cage floor. I felt so bad, it must have been cold. I quickly ordered this. Sometimes I place him on this perch myself but often times he can get to it himself. He sleeps there every night. And I truly believe it helps him maintain some of his energy instead of holding on to the stick perches. I have to keep it clean because of poop so every other day I clean and disinfect it. With a rag and soapy water. Sometimes I use something to scrape off the poop first then use the rag. Or else it looks like a gross soapy mess. I recommend this for a weak bird. If you have stick perches in the cage, keep them lower than this one if you want them to sleep on this. Birds tend to like to sleep in the highest place they can. It makes them feel safe. Although if you only plan to use this to prevent them from sleeping on the cage floor, place this not too high so they don't expend too much energy trying to get to it. I notice sometimes he doesn't bother to get to it so I lower it a little. Or I help him. Hope this helped.

Product is good quality but it was advertised to be for medium sized parrots. Medium sized parrots have cages with larger gaps. The washer included barely expanded the width of the bars so if my bird so much as bumped it the perch would come crashing down. With the purchase of larger washers the problem was fixed. Just wish I didn’t have to buy bigger ones.
