The price

This is a good, solid wire cutter for smaller jobs. I used it to cut through some barbed wire and it worked well. I then tried to cut through a chain link fence (not to break in/out of someplace!) and it really struggled. The handles aren't long enough to provide enough leverage and the metal in the cutting head would not be strong enough to last for sniping more than about 10-20 of those.

I bought these because they are half of Klein's for a similar tool (which I had, loved and used for years) and reviews were positive. They wouldn't cut 2/0 USE wire worth a damn, even when I hacksawed halfway through! I reread reviews and they were for cutting battery cables which are finely stranded and much softer. I returned this piece of junk.Added:Just tried to cut 4/0 aluminum wire. Barely dented it. This "tool" is a poor joke.

If I'd paid a lot for these, they probably wouldn't get five stars. They just do what you'd expect with nothing special like really great ergonomic handles or anything like that. But at this price, doing exactly what is expected on wire at the very top of their capacity is just awesome. Five stars well earned.

I needed something for making custom battery cables. These were great. Nice, clean cuts of 2/0 awg wire. I also used them on some other heavy wire including 1 awg and 6 awg. Great for all of them.
