I buy this stuff in batches. At one point it was scarce and we all panicked. This is the ONLY thing that eases chigger bites. Unfortunately, with southern US chiggers (red mites), their bites are not affected by bite relief preparations that relieve fleabites, mosquito bites, and flying insect stings and bites. Chiggers crawl to your nethers and bite your most important yet tenderest areas. No neutralizing these bites unfortunately. Chigarid is the only way I can get any relief from chigger bites, and it’s palliative but it works great. The camphor and other ingredients including nail laquer, soothe and then dry on the bite, making a thicker barrier between the bite and daily irritation or tickling with fabric and movement which is the cause of itching and scratching. And who wants to go round scratching their crotch? Nobody. Just buy this stuff, it’s great. I can’t recommend it enough and it works on ALL bites.

This stuff is great! Paint it on the bug bite(s) ASAP. It will relieve the pain and make the effects of the bite more endurable and heal faster. If it's a chigger bite, it will kill the chigger that's still under your skin. If left in, the bite will continue to be painful and could get infected.

This is the only product I have found that takes the itch out of Chigger bites and maybe more importantly heals them quickly. Before I found this product I tried Lanacane, Benadryl and Cortizone 10. None of them made a difference to the itching or sped up the healing process. Yes, as others have mentioned it smells....bad! But the odor goes away fairly quickly and the itching stops. It feels a bit like Crazy Glue on your skin and you only want to dab a bit directly on the bite. Do not spread it around the entire itchy area. I used to get horrible scars with Chigger bites, even if I didn't scratch at them. With this product I'm pretty much scar free. What little scar the bite leaves fades quickly. I hope this works for you as well as it has for me. By the way, watch the price. I paid way to much because I needed it quickly. The price from vendor to vendor varies greatly.

Bottom line: Best product to help with itching. The smell is very strong and there’s a CANCER warning. PROS: We have chiggers in our grass so we frequently get bite up. This product works great for the itching! It basically creates this plastic-like clear coating and you can eventually peel it off. CONS: There is a CANCER warning on the box which is my biggest negative (without that it’ll get a 5 star). It smells awful though, super strong! The coating it makes it kind of hard to remove (I guess that’s good when you want it on).

Whenever I’m in my pool area, iam a magnet for chiggers. Their bites itch like crazy and then get infected. I actually have a few scars from their bites and boring into my skin. First time I used Chigrid, it instantly stopped the itching, removed the redness and evidently killed the “ little bugger”. This WORKS!

I grew up in Austin Texas some fifty years ago and still live here. Chiggers are a fact of outdoor life in central Texas. There are ways to avoid them and still enjoy the outdoors: liberal use of insect repellant on feet, legs, arms, and around the waist, and a thorough soapy bath immediately after exposure to potential chigger infested areas. But sometimes we forget or just don't expect chiggers. As a kid, we always had Chirarid and it worked better than anything short of morphine. Now my kids use it too. Prevention is always best, but, never perfect. When they bite, as soon as you notice, using the brush in the cap of the bottle, apply a tiny spot of Chigarid on the center of each red spot. Give it a few minutes to dry before dressing Leave it on for several days or reapply if you scrub it off. It seems like nail polish with a strong medicinal smell. The bottom line is: to relieve chigger bite itching, nothing works better.

Chigarid and Benadryl tablets (not Benadryl cream) are the MUST have staples in my first aid kit !. Camping? You need this! Nothing stops chigger itch like Chigard. Nothing. Good to use on any bite that itches for immediate itch relief. Chigarid is hard to find in the stores. Worth ordering online to keep on hand. It works better than any cortisone or lidocaine product out there. It is a liquid film like New Skin and provides a long time of relief. (BTW:. My main use of Benadryl in the first aid box is for Bee Stings and Fire Ant Bites. Benadryl when taken by pill immediately, stops the inflammatory response of the toxins. of course you can use chigariq on these bites too, but Benadryl should be your first defense.
