This is a surprisingly light shoe, the sole is light weight, it appears to be some kind of foam material. The tops are very shinny and can be polished. It is an overall comfortable shoe to wear. My only complaint is that this shoe is made in China, if I had realized this before I bought them I would not have made the purchase. I wanted shoes made in America. The next time I will probably buy at a local boot and shoe store that carries this brand so that I can see where they are made.

Decent boot, I work dispatch for a security company mostly working cctv and radio calls. They are much more comfortable than the rothco boots we had. I still put a dr.scholls gel pad in the soul. For under $100 at the time not a bad deal

This shoes are good quality the leather looks good and comfortable

The leather is really stiff. This can be expected from a leather shoe. So do yourself a favor. Order some mink oil with the shoes. When you get them, pull the laces and lather them up with mink oil on all the leather surfaces.... heavily. Then let them sit for a few days. This will soften the leather and make the break in period go a little faster. Fit was exactly as expected. Good looking shoe, the surface is shinier than I thought it would be.

I work in a kitchen and stand on concrete for 15-17 hours a day, these shoes are comfortable. I mink oiled them and let them sit for a day. After that I’ve worn them for a week and they just got more comfortable each day, very good shoe and a great price!

Dear Mike, I love the shoes, they fit fine. I have worn Thorogood products for many years, especially while a Columbus firefighter from 1987-2008, and still have a pair of boots from that time that I still use.As I said at the beginning, my new shoes fit fine. However, when I put them on, I never made it outdoors. Now the explanation for my photo. By the way, sorry about the pic of my skinny, partially arthritic feet, lol. (You can laugh, people have made fun of my feet for 50 years, lol.) But anyway, if you look at my LEFT big toe, you will see a lump. Many years ago, sometime during my working life, I broke that toe and was never able to bend it again at the “knuckle”. And now, many years later, the bones in that joint have formed that bony lump, and unfortunately that lump rubs against the steel protective toe, and hurts. I’ve thought of asking the orthopedic firm if they would cut my toe open and grind the deposit down, but instead I’ve just put the shoes aside. The shoes were never outside, and I’ve cleaned any dust off from my carpeting, and as such they look as they did when I took them out of the box. However, now that you’ve written to me, I would like to ask if I returned them, could I please exchange them for a pair of the same style, but non steel toed shoes?I hope no one is offended by the pic, hopefully just amusingly aghast, lol, but I figure the best way to explain my plight was to give complete details. Thanks for bearing with me. They look like Thorogood Soft-streets Men's Uniform Classics Leather Steel Safety Toe Oxford Shoe.But are made in China. Knockoffs not the true USA union made version of a shoe.
