Carpet Protection Film

So initially I wasn’t going to purchase this because of the bad reviews. However I decided to take a chance and I’m glad I did. We just purchased a home and we needed some light remodeling done prior to our move in. The carpets had recently been replaced and were in good shape so we wanted to protect it. We ordered two rolls, we have a 2,000 sq. ft townhome. My fiancé and I covered the flooring and crossed our fingers. We had 5-6 different contractors coming in and out of the home over the course of 60 days (hauling out appliances, removing cabinets, toilets, etc.) When we returned to the home and looked at the covering you could tell it had been through hell and back. But when we removed the plastic sheathing the carpet was pristine! We were blown away. If you plan to order this, a few things you need to know: 1. You MUST have a second person to use this product. You CANNOT do this alone, you will fail Person #1 needs to hold the roll nice and sturdy. Person #2 pulls the plastic from the roll. 2. You CANNOT be in a rush, if you do it’s going to fold in on itself and you will need to create a “lip” to get it going again. Take your time! 3. DO NOT USE THIS ON HARDWOOD FLOORING!!! The adhesive is very strong and will leave traces on the flooring. 4. Lay the product in straight lines, do not try to curve or go around corners. Again don’t believe the negative reviews this product is top notch!

This plastic is the best. I used it for painting a bedroom and it was fabulous. Would never not use while painting. A bit difficult to work with, start and finish length but it really works extremely well

The last time I used a carpet protector film it was a bit, just enough, thicker than this product which made it MUCH easier to put down and deal with. This product comparatively is HORRIBLE to deal with—constantly doubling back on itself and sticking to itself. Nightmare. Spend more $$ if that's what it takes. Wish I could offer a brand name but it's been too long.

Ordered to covered my bedroom carpet and hallway for our plan homebirth delivery. It was put to the test as we did not make it to the birth pool. Yep… a baby boy was delivered on this product and my carpet was fully protected. The adhesive is very sturdy. I was able to stick the open end of the film to the carpet and unroll myself without a second person assisting. I covered a 11 x 18 room and still have plenty left over.

Putting this down on the step and then rolling it out for next step was extremely difficult for a woman over fifty! The sticky side would stick to the non sticky side of roll and you could not break its seal . My husband helped me and again had great difficulty in covering our stairs because the roll was stuck together . Too hard to use this product!

Really hard to put down. Sticks to itself or tears unevenly at edge of roll. And not as thick as hoped. Like trying to deal with large piece of plastic wrap.

Worked like a charm. We had a flood in the basement and they were wrecking our carpeted stairs. The clean up crew didn't cover the stairs on their first day so I ordered this and it was delivered early the next day. It stayed down until we got everything moved back into place. I've got a bunch extra on the roll that I keep thinking I'm going to put down like grandma used to do to her couches.

Purchased to protect new carpeting when moving my girlfriend's mother into her new house. Others have commented on how difficult this was to install, it is a 2 to 3 person job. There's a couple of tricks to make it easier. First, with the help of another, pull out a solid 18 inches and place where you want to start and press down over as much as you can, once this is done, have the second person stand on the area that is already down. Second, find an old broomstick or something similar and cut it to 48-50 inches, run this through the center tube and use it as a handle, making pulling the film easier to control. Third, if you can, go a little longer than you want, as people walk on it, it will contract a little. The move in process for her took a little over a week, and over the week the film took heavy abuse. It was thick enough to hold up and never tore. The adhesive was adequate to keep it in place but was still easy to remove when it was time to clean it up, leaving no trace that it was there. The carpet that it was protecting still looking brand new. Overall, it was money very well spent and I would purchase again.

The good news is this product is sticky. The bad news is this product is hard to use (especially if trying to roll out alone) and sticks to itself creating a big amount of waste. Impossible to use in corners and very very hard to roll out. I quit trying to use it. Waste of money.

Wanted to protect the stairs. Unraveling the roll was difficult. Definitely a two person job and still had trouble

Film was difficult to unroll and extremly sticky not allowing for adjustment.
