La Sportiva's size chart indicates a U.S. Women's 9 is a EUR 40.5, however they do run a touch tight if your foot is not conditioned to tight fitting climbing shoes. In general La Sportiva's size conversions from thier EUR sizing scale to the U.S sizing scales are pretty accurate and should fit similarly to your street shoe size. Keep in mind that in climbing shoes, your toe should be touching the end of the shoe to allow for edging performance, unlike the space we like to have in our street shoes. Your best bet is to order a few sizes around the size you estimate will fit, then simply return the ones that don't fit. **Q: I'm women size 7.5 (38.5eu) but the size chart says men. if i order 7.5, will i get 7.5 men or women? it is confusing.** A: No. European sizing doesn’t have men or women sizes. I bought these so as to avoid constantly getting hit by rental fees.They fit true to size. I wear a size 7 in most street shoes, size 7.5 in athletic shoes. I got these in the EUR 38 and they fit well. The shoe is snug, and my toes touch the edge, but are not super-curled. I think they could have fit a tiny bit better if I had gone down to a 37.5 -- after an hour or so of wear, they tend to feel a bit loose on my feet. The velcro straps make it easy to re-adjust to the proper snugness, though.They look cool, and apparently they're washable! I haven't tried this yet but will update when I do so. ### ⭐ One Star *by on Reviewed in the United States February 22, 2016* Awesome shoe but extremely small ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good First Pair *by on Reviewed in the United States July 17, 2017* As a beginner climber (less than a year of climbing), these shoes have done a great job.I decided to order these after 3 months of climbing and renting shoes from the gym. The amount that I was spending on renting shoes was almost breaking even with the cost of a new pair, so I decided to go ahead and take the leap of investing in my first pair of rock climbing shoes. I wanted something that would fit and perform better than the rentals I had been using without breaking the bank.The shoes were delivered to me five days after ordering them. I ordered a size 40.5, a half size smaller than my normal shoe and the size I wear in gym rentals. In all honesty, I probably could have gotten away with ordering a 41. The shoes were tight enough that my toes were curling just slightly, but since they weren’t broken in yet and there wasn’t a return label I decided to try them out. I’m glad I did!I have been climbing in the shoes for the past five months. I go climbing indoors two to three times a week for around 2 hours. I’m able to wear the shoes for the entire duration of the session without having to take my shoes off. They are tight enough to make me feel confident in placing my feet without them shifting inside the shoe, like the ones I would rent from the gym.The shoes work great for the level of routes that I am currently climbing.Since I am not progressing very quickly, I don’t think that I will be needing to buy new shoes as I get better since they have been doing the job just fine. They don’t slip on the tinier foot holds or while smearing. When they do slip, it’s more likely my own fault than it is because of the shoe.I chose the Oxygym shoe because they were a relatively cheap neutral climbing shoe that had bright colors that would bring out my own personal style. The style of the shoe is great and looks a lot different from most other beginner shoes out on the market (La Sportiva Tarantulace is a popular one at my gym and mostly the only other ones I see). I enjoy having unique-looking shoes that speak to my style while also giving me the convenience of velcro straps. If you are slipping in and out of your shoes a lot, it is so nice to have velcro straps and not laces. You can just strap in and go whenever you’re ready.The only downside to the shoes is that they don’t have great breathability. I find that this will be an issue no matter the shoe you have and being on top of cleaning them is helpful. I haven’t attempted to fully wash them yet, but spot-cleaning simply putting a dryer sheet or a tiny sock of baking soda in each shoe helps reduce any lingering odor between climbs. Nobody likes stinky feet in the gym.Because I am only climbing 5.8 to 5.10- routes and mostly indoors, I don’t need a shoe that can “do it all”. These are a great choice for any beginner.
