The model 19 has a pressure relief system that apparently puts water back into the supply if the water freezes due to a pressurized hose being left on. The extra price verses the model 17 is well worth it if that actually works. A pressure split can only be repaired with a complete removal of the hose bib. The other issue is water damage. On the video from woodford it shows the freeze progressing from the outside to the inside and potentially breaking near the inner shutoff. That does make sense. The problem is if the split damages the shutoff area the result could be major water damage. That's assuming the hose bib was off with a sprayer attached and full of water.What happens if the hose is left on with a sprayer????If the model 19 helps either way or both it's worth it for me.After installing the front leaked when the faucet was turned on. The nut just behind the handle was slowly tightened until the leak stopped. Suggest not over tightening this nut. The rubber may expand with time from water and this allows a future tightening attempt.The model 19 has a nice aluminum metal handle.I just rebuilt a different model 17 on my house with the rebuild kit after 16 years. These are pretty easy to get back to 100%. My other model 17 has no leaks so it's still going strong. The place that tends to leak is the outer seal because it is exposed to air and dries out. You could probably just replace that seal most of the time. On my 17 the outer seal was junk and the 2 inner seals were in good shape.The woodford product is quality. Amazon on the other hand is horrible. Amazon hates free speech. Amazon hates american freedom. Amazon hates anyone who doesn't believe in what they believe in. Really sad but expected in 2021.

I purchased two of these faucets to replace aging units on a purchased home. I installed the first one, only to find that the factory CP fitting to inlet tube joint was leaking. Thinking it may just be a bad unit, I disassembled my soldered connection (after verifying it wasn't my joint that was leaking) and installed the second unit. Same issue with the second assembly. This wasn't my first rodeo with a sweat connection, so I have to think there was a batch of bad factory joints at some point, and I got a couple of them.They appear to be well-made otherwise, but I couldn't tell you for sure since I'm 0 for 2 with the product as-purchased. Very disappointed.

The "plumber" who installed my original outdoor taps was remedial at best. The crummy no freeze, anti-siphon faucet he installed leaked water everywhere outside, made weird groaning noises and I could not find parts to rebuild the leaky anti-siphon valve.Enter this Woodford tap - beautiful quality, easy to install, adjust and rebuild - I bought the rebuild kit and stapled it next to the faucet in the basement. No anti-siphon leaks, no weird noises and its got a great "feel" to the handle.I attached a photo just before installation of the faucet and the custom siding block I assembled to go behind the faucet. Hope that helps!

Installed this to replace an old sillcock that was leaking. Best part is the ball valve geometry is recessed in about a foot at the base of the NPT fitting, so when it is shut the rest drains out. No need to worry about draining it before winter! I sweated the valve in and if you're doing that I would recommend taking the valve apart and removing the handle that the ball valve seal is before sweating so you don't melt the seal.

This is a high end faucet compared to those you find in the local home improvement centers. The handle is real metal. Do not rely on the "12 inches" as that is not accurate. I installed the faucet in a new location so for me this was not an issue.

Arrived promptly, quality as promised. We have installed this spigot as well as the double spigot Woodford 22PX-12-MH Horizontal Freezeless Faucet which provides both hot & cold water(one on each side of house)and are very happy with both. Definitely no freezing even with the brutal weather we have had this month on the east coast. (It's been below zero in PA) Very satisfied with this and our other purchase of Woodford. The quality made the price worth it. Highly recommend.

What is there to say? After seeing that the last three spigots replaced by my favorite plumber were these, and confirming with online reviews, the Woodford Model 19 is the mother-of-all-sillcocks. If you're not using one of these, you're crazy, and just asking for plumbing nightmares. Highly recommended! My wife loves the oval design so that she can get some leverage with wet hands

I just installed this house spigot / bib over the weekend and it works great! The other spigots around my house are not of this quality and I plan on replacing all of them now after working with this one. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!
