Fibrox Pro 7-Piece Cutlery Block Set

I've used Victorinox knives for quite a while and when the opportunity arose for me to acquire this set, I jumped at it. While not forged, the knife steel is of high quality and is easily resharpened. They hold a fine edge and, treated properly, will likely last a lifetime. This is perhaps the best value in such a set that I've seen and while the knives do have a tendency for food to adhere to the blade while chopping, it's unavoidable at this price point. I highly recommend this set.

They're not that eye catching knifes until you see the Victorinox logo. The plastic handle is shiny on the small knives and matte on the big ones, (somewhat resembles the look of asphalt... not in a bad way). You get the impression that they don't belong to the same set. Once you are holding one, it really doesn't look cheap, very nice grip. The blades have that great Victorinox shine that screams quality. The wood block looks a lot nicer than in the pictures, but, it doesn't have the correct cutouts for the knives that come with the set, it also has two extra slots which I really like. The only funny thing is that the scissor doesn't have the Victorinox name or logo BUT, it really looks sturdy and quality made. If you don't mind all this they're GREAT!

O.K., I'm not a pro in the kitchen but I do cook. If you want the very finest knives, Google some of the better Japanese brands. If you want a very good set of knives with block I can't think of a better purchase. I can't speak to their sharpness longevity but they sure are sharp out of the box! The Chef's knife is especially useful. I bought an OXO Santoku knife and it was a great disappointment. I think highly of OXO's products but this knife arrived dull, dull, dull so I ordered the Victorinox Santoku and it arrived sharp, sharp, sharp.

This is an extremely low quality product for the price. Knives don't even have a full tang and the metal bends very easily.

We've had this for about a year and a half now. Every piece that comes in this set is high quality and very, very sharp. One of the reasons we purchased this particular set was because it comes with a couple extra open slots in the block. We were able to fill these in with one knife that we already had, and we purchased a second of the larger chef's knife that comes with this set. We enjoy cooking together in the evenings, and this set offers a wide selection of knives to get any job done! This set would make a great house warming or wedding gift. I wish I could give this product ten stars.

you can buy all sets of expensive knives which have really nice feel and features, but these knives are workhorses. they are like a blue collar worker, well priced and do the job. if you are a knife snob and want to show your friends your high end kitchen toys, please go ahead and buy the others. if you want a well priced, high value knife set, this is the set. these are the knives that most restaurants use. there is good reason for that.

I ordered this set a couple or three weeks back at $59.99 and loved it so much, I wanted to order a second set as a gift. Unfortunately, either cooking.com or amazon.com did not have the webpage properly updated. Even though the item was showing in stock from cooking.com, the order would not process, saying that sometimes the item is sold to another customer while it is in the cart. I attempted the purchase numerous times with the same results, so I contacted cooking.com only to find out that the item has been discontinued. The next day, I checked, and the webpage was still the same, so I tried to place the order again. Same story. So... I chatted with amazon.com about the problem. They said that they had contacted the proper department to have the problem fixed. I found it interesting that amazon.com has the same product at a much higher price - but was not willing to honor the price that was listed - even though it had been cooking.com's price. It seems to me that Amazon is the "host" company here, and as such should extend that offer in such a deceptive mishap. But, alas. No way. I am disgruntled. The product deserves five stars. The process/service - less. I appreciate that both business "talked" to me about the problem, but neither did anything to honor the price.

I really like those knives and the knife sharpener comma's really handy. One thing I don't like about them is cheap plastic handles. The size of the knifes are nice.

Just getting into cooking and didn't want to spend too much on an expensive set. Found this set to be ideal for myself as the knives handle great and cut well. Knife block was bigger than I expected but looks good regardless.

Awsome knife set, knives made in Switzerland, sharpener made in England only block is made in Malaysia. The wood block should be finished, or it will absorb moisture. Otherwise knives are razor sharp and awsome.

Was a good price for good swiss steel. They work very well for me and come razor sharp. Keep in mind that there are two empty slots in the block, which can be filled with other victorinox knives or even other brands. I bought it specifically for that reason, but others may not like how it looks with empty slots

Bought these because of a recommendation from Jamie Oliver. However, a bit of a disappointment. Knives are certainly sharp and functional. But seem to me a bit light in heft for their intended purpose. Block is fine as are scissors and sharpener. Found it strange though that a Swiss? company would have at least one of its knives made in Sheffield, England.
