Armitron Sport Men's Digital Chronograph Resin Strap Watch, 40/8253

This watch is tough as hell, it's been through a couples years of sand, rain, water, dirt, and rocks and whatever the army has thrown at me. It got scraped up a bit on the face but considering what this watch has been through just staying on my wrist the whole time is amazing. The only thing is that from day one the display is very dark and more often than not you will have to hit the back light just to see it. If your looking for something that is pretty close to indestructible this is definitely a great watch. I've also swam in a pool with it a few times as well as a P.S.

PROS: The watch itself is great! All of the features I needed and at a reasonable cost. The watch has a nice big face that is easy to see. The reversed lcd keeps others from looking at my watch and seeing the time or reaching for my watch and trying to check the time. The EL function is just enough to be seen at night without lighting up your position to everything and everyone. (If I need a flashlight, I've got one thank you Timex). CONS: The metal retainer buckle on the strap of the watch digs into my arm and causes chafing...and then bleeding. I realize it's because my arm is not mammoth sized for this particular huge watch, but I plan on replacing it with a velcro strap anyway. The rubber is nice, but it causes any sweat to congeal into a funky slime that needs cleaning after a week. I spend a lot of time outdoors and can't abide by any equipment causing injuries through normal usage which could lead to an infection or worse. Overall, a great buy and a good fit!

My absolute favorite digital watch to date. Simple functions, but more than I need (alarm, 2 zone times, 24hr format, stop watch). I like the blacked out screen during the day because it allows for the vibrant and bright indiglo at night. I get so many compliments from both sexes on this watch. Had it for about a year now and the quality is def holding up. (The strap was recently stained due to me spraying bug repellent on it while on vacation in Cancun... I'll venture to say it was more so the strength of the chemicals in the spray rather than the quality of the band). Buy with confidence and buy two, to give one as a gift.

It's a cheap watch. It works. I got it wet. It still works. The electroluminescent backlighting is essential for reading the face of the watch unless you happen to catch ideal lighting conditions when the light source comes from exactly the proper angle. Time will tell whether I got my dollars' worth. I've had $5 watches from Walmart that lasted until the battery died and replacing the battery cost more than the watch. I've had $350 watches that rotted on my arm when the plating corroded from contact with my skin. A watch is a watch if it serves its purpose. ***** Update March 4, 2014: The battery, and apparently the watch, died last night in the middle of the night. I woke in darkness and pressed the "EL" button to turn on the backlight. The face lit dimly as did the characters giving the time. The next morning, the watch was dark. I replaced the CR2025 cell inside with a new one, following the instruction concealed inside the watch back cover. When I short-circuited the two contact points inside the watch circuit assembly, the display came on briefly but I could not change the setting (Time/Date/Alarm, etc.) I installed a second cell and got no response at all. I had gotten used to the reverse (dark-field) display on the watch and found that it was tough enough to survive my workouts. However, this short life is unacceptable. I CLEARLY DID NOT GET MY MONEY'S WORTH FROM THE WATCH.

It looks really nice, it's quite large, but the screen is a little difficult to view, especially with glare and it's not too user friendly or at the very least the instructions aren't very helpful. I would still recommend it though, because it looks nice and can still accurately give time and in the right lighting or in the dark it is very easy to tell the time.

I bought this watch because my current Armitron had taken a beating and it couldn't get back up. The face on this watch may scratch, but it can take some pain. The instructions are slightly irritating,but nothing to worry about once you get past the initial setup. I do wish the watch didn't have those weird bars at the top above the time, that change patterns as the seconds go buy. I say this,because I think it too "loud" and makes the watch scream. All else aside, it is a great watch. My watch came with the wrong instructions and Armitron was very quick (1 business day) to email me the correct ones. If you need a watch that goes great when your outside of an area that does not get cell phone coverage and can take a beating, go with this one.

This watch has served me well!!! I can't believe how well this watch has done for me. Pros: It really does well in water ( I went scuba diving with it down 75 ft) It also holds the time amazingly well. Cons: It scratches really easily. The silicone wristband has ripped for me. I almost want to buy another one because it is so cheap and bugs me a bit. The buttons have become almost unresponsive. I have to press them 10-15 times in the right spot to try and get them to respond. Other than this it is an amazing watch. I love the huge watch face.

It's a bit bigger than I was hoping, but it's definitely not too big that it's off putting, such as a 50MM case. I am replacing my old Armitron watch 40/8274. I had it for 4-5 years, and the band has torn in several places. The watch isn't sold online so I've been unable to get a replacement, or find the band specs in order to replace the band. This watch has all the same features. T1, T2, AL, and SP. It tracks the date (including year) just like the last one, and also like before can switch between 12 to 24 hour clock with just the press of a button. The design of the watch face is pretty cool in my opinion. I am a Computer Programmer, so I like geeky things. Others have mentioned the watch being hard to see. I can't say whether that's true of not. For me, it's almost comparable to my last watch, so it dpesn't seem to make a different for me and what I am use to.

Está hecho de plástico robusto de buena calidad, lo probé en una alberca y efectivamente resiste al agua aunque no lo recomiendo por lapsos prolongados ya que los botones dejan de funcionar temporalmente, también ojo el led con el que prende es de color verde. Estoy bastante contento y me encanta que los números son blancos sobre fondo negro. Lo recomiendo

デカイんだが、プラケースなんでcasio A178と重さ変わりません。 バンドはゴム？なんか、ブニュってしてる。 取扱い説明書ナシです。 armitoronのHPに行ってマニュアル見ながら時間合わせました。 ダメな人は取説ナイ時点で評価星１つでしょうね。見た目は個人的にはカッチョイイ！と思いますが、見本写真の鮮やかなブルー文字は嘘です。くすんだブルーグレーみたいな色でぼや～っと光ってます。でも、暗闇でもちゃんと読み取れますから問題ない問題ない。 まあ、アメリカ製なんてこんなもんだよなーって考えられるような、おおらかな人向け。 casio以外で洒落たデジタル探してる人には良いのではないかな。 時間のズレとかはまた調べるつもりですが、パーソナルユースなので、月に５秒や10秒狂っても実生活には問題ないわなぁと考える性格ですので、調べないかも知れませんw

cheap and best

This watch is by far the best I've ever owned! Big face, clear numbers, dates so you wouldn't forget important plans. This watch has it all and for a great price, you wouldn't be disappointed. The only con is that in dark places you wouldn't be able to see the numbers unless you hit the light button but that's a given. I love this item overall!

Good product. However, the interface is faint. Also, when the light function is not that strong. Obviously the darker the place you're in the brighter you'll see but in general I find it so-so
