What's not to love they seem so real in my porch light!

We bought a pack of these just for fun. They look different, probably put them in for parties. Definitely not a "real" looking flame. More of just a cool lighting effect.

Bought this years ago for an outside light and still works well good quality and the bulb is a good fit.

The colors could be more vibrant and brighter. The bulb died after only 3 months of use!

I was so excited to get my Flame effect bulb. With all the hype and videos floating around on FB, I thought for sure I'd love it.(EDIT/UPDATE: I returned it. In my opinion the concept has a way to go before it better emulates fire or flame. Too much strobe-like flashing. Very yellow. If it were $10-$12ea. I wouldn't be so harsh. But for the $31+ I spent for a single bulb, I expected more realism. Not worth the money.)Once I plugged it in, my overall impression is a solid "Meh."3/5 ⭐'s for effort & creativity. And this IS one of the better rated bulbs because you don't actually have to see the LED's inside. The white opaque plastic cover (yes, it has a plastic top - LED's don't get hot) obscures the actual LED's helping to enhance the flame appearance. But you can still tell it's just like the other lesser rated "flame bulbs" out there. At first you think, "Oh how cool!" Then immediately realize, "oh, wait. It's fake." Sadly the 'wow factor' was gone the instant I plugged it in. It repeats that quickly. Yes, I was moreover disappointed rather than wow'ed. These bulbs are most certainly not worth $31+. And I agree with an earlier review, this bulb does in fact have a repetitive and bright strobe light effect. It isn't calming at all. In fact it's very bright with a very sunshine yellow hue, waaaay too bright for use as ambient lighting.The pattern quickly circles around the base then jumps & repeats, hence the flashing. Imagine 4 people walking around crouched in a circle then standing up tall, and repeat; "1,2,3,4, pop! 1, 2, 3, 4, pop!" Disappointing.I decided to give it a try in my faux fireplace insert to see if it looked any good there... It's still way too bright & flashes, even behind a fake fire display. I'll also add that I'd -never- use this on our porch or in an electric torch. It's waaaay too bright, & looks and acts too much like emergency lighting. Darned shame too.

The media could not be loaded. Seems like a great bulb so far. I tried it inside first and didn't seem like I could change the effects, even though I flicked the light switch. I don't know if I did it too fast or what, but the one it is one looks like a real flame. I have it in my lamp post which goes on by photocell, so I will be checking it each night to make sure it stays on the same effect. If it does, I will buy more and maybe even the blue ones. I cannot say anything about the longevity of them yet, so hopefully I can edit my review later. We had an old flame bulb that looked decent, but would not work below 20°F. I tried the FEIT bulb from Menards, but did not look realistic at all.

This bulbs are frosted and not bright at all. On the photos of the product is shows like a blue flame….well, there is no flame and there is no real attraction. I’m using them as my garage lights because I don’t want to be wasteful of the money I paid for them and I’m too lazy to take the time and send them back. Won’t be purchasing again.
