It works extremely well on concrete, I haven't tried to work on metal so I can't say how well it works for that. It's impact strength is pretty good it nearly embedded itself into the concrete I was trying to chip away at. It has a decent weight and for me I was getting a bit tired around the end of the duty cycle of my air compressor which I would say makes it pretty good. I have a porter cable 2.6cfm 6 gallon pancake compressor and it runs it full power. You get about 20 seconds before the compressor kicks on. The guy who said it won’t work, and it HAS to have 4cfm never actually tried it. You can’t run this thing all day off a smaller compresssor, but for light intermittent work it will work just fine. **Q: Where is it made?** A: This Ingersoll Rand Air Hammer and Chisel Set is made in Taiwan. **Q: How do I assemble it out of the box? This is my first air hammer and it doesn't tell me anything in the printed materials.** A: The "tip" if you will is basically a quick (dis)connect attachment for the tips that came with it. Put that on and use the allen screws built into it to tighten it really good. Then you just grab it and slide it down towards the hammer itself, which allows you to insert the tips, then let go and they should be locked in. Seems QC upped their game. *by R***S on February 2, 2020* So far I've used it several times to "coax" rusted thing where I need them to be with great success. I'm a full time mechanic, and haven't had an issue in the 5-10 times I've had to pull it out of it's draw. I looked through the reviews after puchase but before receiving the air hammer, and I was a bit freightened. As of January 2020, all of the quality control issues I had read about have been fixed. Maybe the contract went to a new factory. Or someone up at the top lit a fire underneath the company that held the contract for IR. Either way, the grip looks good, I see no signs of bad machieing or bad molding. As for the tool galling or deforming the air chisels bits that are provided and being stuck in the quick release: Zero issue. Maybe the steel has been upgraded. Maybe others were putting in 8hrs straight on this tool. I've had zero problems with tool deformation and being stuck. I used some bits more than others. The tips of course so wear, but where the tool meets the bit all if fine. I did read that there where some internal failures as well. So far so good. But this tool comes out for about 15 minutes at a time. Or even less. If this is the only took you used for your entire 8hr shift, maybe look to greener pastures. If this tool is used to break loose a stubborn bolt on a Thursday afternoon and to knock out a axle on Friday. Then is is a good "bang" for the bucks. Over all: price, ease of use, and power are all great in my book.
