Jetstream Multi Pen 4 and 1, 0.38mm Ballpoint Pen (Red, Blue, Green) and 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil, Body, Black (MSXE5100038.24)

I frequently attend meetings in different rooms and rely on this pen's mutiple colors to help me keep track of tasks, hot action items, things to look up, and other items. The ink flows smoothly, the pencil is wonderful, and the eraser quality is great. For me, the two things that set this pen above competitor offerings are 1.) the clip is large enough to clip over a book ring and strong enough not to break under normal use. 2.) I'm left-handed and find many pens smear as I write, this one doesn't. The one thing I would change about this pen, and it's a very minor quibble, would be to smooth out the transition between the rubber grip and the metal end. This area can cause a point of heat on my finger...but again, it's a pretty minor issue for me becuase I rarely write more than a few bullet points or a quick note.

I love this pen! I can label urgent, financial, personal, medical, and work items with designated colors, and I can use the pencil for tentative meetings or appointments. The barrel is thicker (of course) than the regular version of this pen and it might be a little too thick for some people, but I can work with it. The fine point is excellent, the ink crisp and clear, and legible even when I write small. Even though there are 4 colors, the ink lasts for quite a while. I purchased mine months ago and I have yet to require refills for any of the ink. If you write more than light calendar mark-ups, you might want to consider the regular Jetstream 0.38 REFILLS: I highly recommend this pen, but be aware that the refills you order for this pen are thinner than the refills you'd order for the regular 0.38 Jetstream. This pen will not accept the larger refills. PAPER: I use this pen with my Hobonichi Techo Cousin, Weeks, and Day-Free with mild show-through and no bleeding. These products use thin Tomoe River Paper, and I LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS! BLOBS: This is a ball-point pen with better technology, but you will occasionally have blobs of ink. I wipe the pen if the ink looks a little thick, and keep going. I'm a pen snob and have avoided ballpoint pens like the plague for a few years, but this line of pens is worth the occasional blob, IMHO. Don't try to create lines or linear drawings very much with it, as you might have more blobs than with writing letters.

It works as it should but it is quite wide. It doesn’t fit in some of my shirt pockets that have a cut-out for pens.

This was a total impulse buy because I wanted a multi-function pen I could keep on my lanyard for work. Overall, it’s a really nice pen and definitely feels like a quality item. It writes smoothly, and I love having multiple ink colors plus the added functions all in one pen—it’s super convenient and practical for everyday use. That said, it’s not quite my favorite for carrying around. I still find myself reaching for my smaller Uni-ball mini pen (the one with the fruit/food names), just because it’s more compact and easier to wear. If you’re looking for a reliable multi-pen with great writing quality and versatility, this is a great option. Just keep in mind it’s a bit bulkier if you’re planning to carry it on a lanyard all day.

The best multipoint on the market

I've almost exclusively been using the Jetstream shown in white for my pens at work for almost a year and loved them, even as a lefty. Thought I would be getting similar performance with the 5-in 1, but no. It skips, and seems to be pretty particular on which types of paper it will write on. Skips quite a lot, maybe I just got a bad one.

I really love this pen. I've had ones with multiple pen inserts, but never a pencil as well. This extra feature is great, because I always grade my daughter's homework in pencil, but I still have all of the other options for when I need them. I also purchased a metal version of this thinking it would be nicer, but honestly I prefer the plastic. The grip is a little bit better and it seems to be a bit thinner, which is appreciated and a pen that's already on the thicker side

As expected, Japanese precision writing instrument. Everything about it is quality. This is money well spent.
