Great Casio Watch
In all this watch did not disappoint in any way. There are a few complexities with it but those are to be expected of a watch in this price range. I was looking for a watch to replace the G-Shock I lost a long time ago when I was 15. I had it for literally 6 years when it was ripped off my wrist while I was sailing. The strap was cut through and the watch dropped into the ocean. It is probably still sitting there telling the time as we speak...PROS-A great sturdy watch, rubber coated exterior bug rugged buttons thick straps metal clasp.-A great look, I could wear this with a polo and jeans or a nice suit if I really wanted to.It is a clean crisp rugged looking watch.-it is waterproof, shock resistant, and everything else you could possibly want.-IT IS SOLAR POWERED! Yes that is right solar powered. Say good bye to having a dead watch. That was the one thing I disliked about my original Casio so much; when it went dead it took me a week to get the battery replaced. No more!-The solar panels are well hidden, unless you are looking for them you will NOT find them. They are hidden into the design of the watch quite well.-I have had this thing for a few months now and can say with confidence it has never dipped below the HIGH charge mark. I don't even have to change the way I normally wear a watch either. It just seems to glean every bit of spare solar energy it can get and uses it all to charge the battery.-The manual is well written and flows easily from one function to anotherCONS-It is not bulletproof...but is likely bullet resistant knowing its construction.-The MANUAL...Dear sweet lord the manual is intense. It is the size of a small travelers bible that you can put easily in your pocket. And it is just about as thick as one if not thicker. This thing has more functionality than any other watch I have ever owned...while that isn't saying much if you plan on using ANY advanced functionality of this device you need to read the manual.-The display can be a bit challenging to read in the dark if you do not light the face up. Good news I found if you quickly twist your wrist like you want to read the time, when it is dark the face auto lights up for you. It does not however do this when it is bright enough to read the face during the day. it is almost like it has a light sensor in it and will only auto light up when there isn't enough light to read it alone.WRAP-UPAs far as the line of Casio watches goes this one was a good pick for me. I have a big arm and well a HUGE wrist; this watch fit perfectly and looks great. It is rugged enough for me not to have to worry about taking it hiking, biking, or accidentally hitting it against something while walking or running. They just don't make watches like this anymore...or I thought they didn't.

Great upgrade from Timex Ironman
I bought this watch to replace a Timex Ironman that died after a few years of service. I liked the Timex because of its low price, huge display, and very easy to use all of the watch functions. I've had the Casio GW7900B-1 watch for about a month now and I don't miss my old Timex one bit. There are several comments about the inverse display being hard to read, but I find it easy to read in any lighting conditions. I would say that you have to use the backlight a little more than you would on a traditional display (for example a little earlier at dusk), but that's just a new habit to get used to. With the backlight on you can read it fine under low light conditions. The backlight actually seems brighter than what I had on my Timex.Display of numbers is not as big as on the Timex (nothing out there really is), but this watch shows more information and the display is big enough that I don't have any problems reading it.It is very easy and intuitive to use all of the features on the watch. Maybe not quite as simple as the Timex, but pretty darn close, and you have more features like moon and tide info on this one to learn how to use. Read the user's manual one time and you'll understand how to use everything.Obviously the price of this watch is more than the Timex, but this watch is built like a tank and I think it will last forever. I also think it is more attractive than the Timex. I wear it to work (office job) and people have told me "nice looking watch." It is a large watch, but looks good and is comfortable to wear. The watch battery power indicator has been on full ever since I received it. I work in an office all day under fluorescent lights and am outside an hour or two in the evenings, plus outside more on weekends. That seems to be enough to keep it fully charged without doing anything special.Time sync with atomic clock signal has worked perfectly every night and even automatically adjusted for daylight savings time. I leave the watch sitting on my dresser when I go to bed and it syncs without any special effort required. I live in Colorado, so I am close to the source of the atomic clock signal in Ft. Collins. As others have mentioned, the screws on the front face are there just for looks. You can move them around with your fingers, but it doesn't seem like they are going to fall out or anything.Overall, this is a great watch and I am looking forward to having it for many years.
