What are the physical dimensions of the magnet that holds the rack?

Magnets are 1.3inch in diameter.

Are magnets bare metal? Metal rusts... or are they coated?

They are coated, not bare metal.

Can I silicone this to the back of my tank and use it as a floating shelf for a reef scape, and it hold about 10 lbs of rock?

I wouldnt attach to the tank, this is an awesome product to use as a frag holder. Has been in my tank for a few months with no issue but using it as just a frag holder.
