The antenna worked as it should but the magnet is not strong enough for highway speeds on top of a vehicle. That is unless it is blocked by something to reduce wind on it. Great entry antenna and awesome customer service from this company. Unfortunately I put the antenna on the roof of my vehicle and it didn’t last long at 70+mph speeds. The company made it right and I definitely will be buying from them again

Works as advertised. I had a 1.7 SWR so didn't trim the antenna. You can coil and uncoil the cable to tweak it a little. Magnet holds well and road speed..

Works well with my portable CB handheld radios, increasing the range. The only negative is the magnet base doesn't stick well enough to my vehicle to keep it from blowing off when driving. I use it indoors and only on the vehicle if I'm not driving.

For starters, the magnet is a little weak and the allen key that came with the antenna is too small... I had to get my own in order to tune the antenna.I placed the antenna in the middle of the roof of my full size crew cab truck. The best possible spot for an antenna having a large flat ground plane. I tuned the antennas SWR and the best I could get is 2.3 on channels 1 and 40 with 20 coming in at 1.5. The SWR is a little high on 1 and 40 and barely acceptable on 20. The lack of tenability is not by its self a complete deal breaker for the price. However when I went for a drive to check the range and reception, I was even more disappointed... I could receive good enough but at only 1/2 a mile the other party was getting very choppy and staticy reception from me. By the time I was 1.5 miles away the other party couldn't understand anything at all even though I could hear and understand them.I got these distance measurements using the measure feature on google earth...Using the same CB radio connected to my JEEP antenna I get 6 miles driving through the same area before loosing intelligible reception. The JEEP has a 3 foot antenna which is mounted on the spare tire mount between the spare and the rear window. Not the best place for an antenna and still, the JEEP antenna tunes better than this cheap magnetic mount antenna. The antenna on the JEEP is a Firefly FL3 and the whole antenna cost about $60 bucks.

This is a really nice portable CB radio antenna. I bought this for my work truck and its works perfectly. It is very simple to install thanks to the magnetic base. The magnet is strong and does not shift even while driving with it attached. My radio's range has increased quite a bit by using this antenna as well. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend for anyone still using CB radios for communications.

I bought this antenna to use on the roof of my Mercedes Sprinter van. I wanted a portable because I can take it down when I need to. I spent the best part of a day trying it on different locations on the roof, and yes, the vehicle was out in the clear with no obstructions around it. The build is flimsy and the grub screw holding the top part of the antenna is weak. In my humble opinion this antenna is no good and I would not waste your money on it. You get what you pay for - not much.Oh, and by the way the magnetic mount is not strong like you describe, it too is weak.
