Neat But…
This is my second Aero Garden. I had the original and loved it. I bought this one after a move. It grows my herbs just fine however the 360 has a filtration system the causes the top edges of the bowl to grow green algae. It’s not very attractive. Other than that it works as expected.

Kids were excited
I gifted this to two different sets of kids, one was able to grow herbs and one was not. I am not sure what one did right and the other did wrong. But it seems like a device thats rather easy to use.The light is super bright, Was hoping to have it in the office but it's just too bright. So one family has the device in the garage. I think its worth purchasing

Its a great gift for someone that wants an easy flower pot.
I bought this when it was on sale for like $60 or so for black friday. I bought a few seed kits to go with it, flowers and tomatoes. This particular one is a pretty simple unit- it uses a small aquarium pump that flows into a chamber that can feed up to six plants. Mind you, that heavily depends on what you grow. It uses a 20watt multi-spectrum led light that adjusts up to 2ft or so. Its modular so it breaks down pretty easy to clean. For the avg person that isn't that great with plants, this is pretty cool. It has basic reminder buttons that will let you know when its low on water or when to add nutrients (which it comes with). I would guess this thing would make a very nice flower pot to grow year round. I don't think I personally would recommend it for more than that. What I don't like-The roots are going to be sitting in water almost all the time, though there is a small gap for absorbing oxygen. It would be a lot nicer if there was a water storage tank and a basin for areation. Less risk of root rot. I imagine higher end units offer this, but I would like to see a panel that can program the light cycles, a significantly better hood, sensors that will measure and report PH and nutrient levels..

Pretty much set it and forget it!
I bought this for my wife so she could have fresh herbs in the winter. I also bought her the salsa kit and the lettuce kit. Surprisingly she started with the lettuce. You fill the reservoir with water and add a cap of the provided nutrients (each kit comes with one). You drop the pods in and keep the plastic domes on them. This provides them a humid environment to start growing. There is a pump in the base that pushes water up the tube and dribbles out of the 6 ends, down the sides of the faux dirt in the pods. The pump seems to circulate once every hour while the lights are on. I plugged my lights in at 7am for the first run and they go off at 9pm. They are extremely bright and the height is adjustable. The lettuce sprouted in 3 days and after about 2 weeks we were trimming lettuce for salads. After a month we transplanted the lettuce outside and immediately attracted rabbits to the yard. My wife then started the salsa kit which is heirloom cherry tomatoes and jalapenos. She did 3 of each. One of the jalapeno pods didn't sprout and Aerogarden sent us a new replacement pod. It sprouted but it was behind the others so we transplanted them into their own flower pots and put them in the window. They are doing quite well in soil after being started in the Aerogarden. The 3 tomato plants have exploded with growth and after a few weeks we had tons of yellow flowers on the plants. The flowers wilted and within a day, the tiniest little green tomatos were forming. It's been a week since the flowers died but we have about 50 tiny tomatos about the size of one segment of your finger. That's from only 3 tomato pods. Once we get a few good harvests from these we will transplant them to soil and put them in the window as well. Then we will finally get to the herbs which was the original purpose for my purchase, lol.So far, it's been super fun and easy to grow lettuce, tomatos, and jalapenos with this device. There is a light that goes red and tells you when it needs water. It tells you when it needs nutes. It's easy to clean since the whole top tray where the pods insert can be lifted. After a month, it's recommended to clean the filter of the pump since roots (yes there will be tons) can grow into the meshing. The lights turn on and off automatically. It's super simple to use.If you have a brown thumb... This will help you make it turn green. Plug it in, in the morning initially to set the light schedule. Drop in the pods. Follow the directions on the card for care/pruning if necessary. Live your life and it will do it's thing. Reap the rewards of fresh veggies and herbs after only a few weeks. I'm not gonna say best investment ever, but it's close. And if you appreciate super fresh produce then you will definitely love this.

Love these, but you need to know a few things
I have 3 of these, and I would buy them all over again. But there are a few things you need to know. You'll need to put water in them often enough that you can't plan a long trip unless someone is willing to check the water for you and refill them if necessary. I'd be worried to leave them alone for a week, esp. during times of peak growth. The water and food lights will come on when you need to add water or food. However, 2 of my 3 failed to let me know the water was low, and I lost plants. Not a big deal. I was about to restart one of them, anyway. Do eyeball the water from time to time and don't rely on the lights to come on.If you're going to grow tomatoes, once the plants get tall enough, they will flop over. I wish they'd make a tomato cage or supports to use. The plants will continue to make tomatoes. I'm getting my second crop on the first planting now. Very productive. Also, if you're going to grow tomatoes, you need a calcium supplement to prevent blossom end rot. Imagine my disappointment when the fruits developed rot. This is a common problem with all tomatoes. Amazon sells a wonderful product called "Rot End" that fixed the problem completely. Spray it on the leaves during periods of heavy growth. (I am not connected with the company, lol.)I left my house, where I could grow vegetables, and moved into a tiny apartment. I can still grow tomatoes and basil, though. The Aerogarden produces so much basil, I have a constant supply of pesto. Just get their Grow Anything Kit so you can choose which herbs you want to grow instead of relying on their choices.

Grow height less than advertised
The height of the LED is less than 11". It is advertised grow height of 12". Assuming this will make it that much harder to grow and maintain peppers.

Great gift!
It's the gift that keeps on giving! Bought this for my brother who only has a little window in his apartment and he absolutely loves it. He keeps it far away from the window and says it's super easy to use and maintain.
